Mike Vennart

Mike plays a heavily modified 1985 Squier Strat with Dimarzio and Ibanez pickups and a Marlin bridge.

"Fender were very kind enough to hook me up with this about 6 years ago and it's one of the only guitars I've got that I haven't absolutely rinsed and changed and made it into something weird, this is just a standard American Tele, and it's taken a licking over the years, it's one of the only guitars that I've not had to modify or had to repair because it pretty much speaks for itself. The strange thing about this particular Tele, I don't really know why, but it's really guttural, apart from the, sort of, twang and bite, it's good for really heavy stuff [...] it's a surprisingly adaptable guitar."

Mike Vennart is confirmed to use the Gibson SG Standard, as evidenced by a Guitar World YouTube video where he performs "Stutter" by Empire State Bastard. Additionally, a photo from the Wikipedia page of Mike Vennart shows him playing the Gibson SG during a live performance with Empire State Bastard at Tons of Rock 2024.

In an Instagram post, Mike Vennart confirmed his use of the Patrick James Eggle 96 Vintage guitar during live performances with Biffy Clyro, specifically for songs tuned to CGCFGC. He mentioned, "Had a lot of questions about this axe. It’s a @pjeggleguitars. Super comfy and lovely, slinky neck. Currently in use for Wolves & Tiny for the CGCFGC tuning." The post was accompanied by a photo taken by @gbollardphoto.
