Nick featured in Levin dreadnought famous players video.
''I only remember a Martin D28 and his Spanish guitar – that is not to say he did not have others.'' - Robert Kirby (wrote arrangements for Five Leaves Left and Bryter Layter)
This guitar was owned by Nick and some photos exist whis this guitar.
Rosette and headstock match to Yamaha G-50 NT natural.
Althought photo is in B&W, the shade of the soundboard clearly indicate a Natural finish. A ceder top would have been more a darker shade.
Nick Drake bought a 000-28 some time after the pink moon was released. This guitar was used on the later recordings of nick drake, which unfortunately never reached a complete album release other than compilations. It is still owned by Nicks estate.
All information gathered from the book "Remembered for a while". A highly recommended read.
Used on vocals, as mentioned in this article from philsbook.com.
A Neumann U67 was used for the vocal and placed close to the singer's mouth. The guitar was close mic'ed in front of the sound hole using a Neumann KM56.
The mics went through the Sound Techniques desk to an Ampex 4-track half inch tape machine. The desk circuits were transformer coupled, discrete transistor with inductor based eq. The vocal was compressed through a Fairchild 660 limiter. Delay would be added using an Ampex 2 track and reverberation with an EMT plate.

Whilst recording "Poor Boy" at Sound Techniques in March 1970, Nick Drake spontaneously borrowed a Gibson L7-C archtop 'jazz' guitar from Simon Nicol of Fairport Convention, who happened to be present. Simon has long since sold it (via Richard Morton Jack's Nick Drake - The Life (2023)).
Nick Drake's first guitar, an Estruch "1920s Era" Parlor, was purchased in Marlborough High Street for £13 in December 1964 and is now in the possession of his estate. This information is corroborated by Richard Morton Jack's Nick Drake - The Life.
In late May 1974, Nick Drake's parents gave him a Uher Report Monitor 4200 4-track reel-to-reel tape recorder as an early birthday present, as detailed in Richard Morton Jack's Nick Drake: The Life.
