Nick Perri's Guitars

This is UMA. One of only 2 guitars I have left from the Silvertide era. Early 2000's. She has been thru quite a lot with me. World tours, broken head stocks (x2), endless pickup modifications and more. I'm very happy with her current setup. The SD Antiquity Firebird pups are fantastic. And the recent addition of a Bigsby is a total win. She will KILL BILL! - Nick Perri

This is a very cool piece, because I'm super into custom guitars as well, because they're custom guitars, they're cool. I've got a great friend named Robert Mondell from Forked River, New Jersey and he's been a friend of mine for at least 15 years. He's a custom guitar builder, and when I say custom he doesn't do the same guitar twice. So if you like something someone else is playing and you're like "Hey, I'd like something like that," he can get you close, but he does literally everything by hand. There's no jigs or whatever, it's all hand done, which I think is super cool. So this is a guitar that we names Hanzo.

This is "The Joint". My 1st Les Paul. A lot of people ask me about her, so here is the story.. My buddy @toneschaser helped me figure out she is actually a 1997 Custom Shop Standard (masquerading around as an amazing '58 RI) but don't tell her that. I used the guitar for most of my rhythm tracks and some of the leads on Silvertide's "Show and Tell" album, but never toured with her so she is in much better cosmetic shape then her counterpart Bella. After that band ended I sold her to buy a one-way plane ticket to Los Angeles to kind of start over. This was in 2006. Last year as a gift for my 30th birthday my Sister tracked the guitar down and bought it back for me! I'm still amazed and so grateful for this. Thanks Sis. The guitar has been upgraded with a Callaham bridge and tailpiece, Bare Knuckle "The Mule" un-potted humbuckers, and RS Guitarworks pots, caps, and wiring. And yes, she sounds as good as she looks. Oh and there is a sticker of a joint on the truss rod cover from way back, so there is the name ?? - Nick Perri

A special thank you to my friends at @gibsonguitar for always having my back. Last year I sold my 1962 LG-3 to pay for studio time and I found myself acoustic-less for the first time in a long time. I’ve been borrowing various guitars since but today this brown case showed up at my door. I am so grateful to be the custodian of this absolutely stunning 2019 Gibson Hummingbird. She plays like a dream and sounds fantastic. My daughter named her “Redwing” which I thought was clever and fitting on multiple levels. Ok, bye! Gonna go write 50 new songs..

Hello new old friend. Did some horse trading and ended up with this beautiful 335. Nashville era, '59. Nice big neck, great wood / weight, sustain for days. I'm in love. Think I'm gonna name her "1999" after her year of birth. Let's dance. - Nick Perri

When I first joined Shinedown, I had a definitive vision of what I wanted to have on-stage and what I wanted to present. That vision was to have all Gibsons, all in black. I have an ES-335, Les Paul Custom, a ’57 reissue, a ’67 reissue Flying V, an Elvis Presley Signature Dove, the black SG GT, an Explorer and a black Firebird. When you see all those guitars together in a rack, it just has such a presence. - Nick Perri

In this interview with Premier Guitar, Nick Perri says:

So this is the SG. My daughter named this guitar "The Cat's Squirrel." I told her she had to pick the name of a Cream song, because this is a '64 reissue, same type of vibe that Clapton had in his time with Cream. George Harrison as well. This is a Custom Shop '64 reissue. Another example of Gibson just hitting it out of the park in the last few years. The guitar is just incredible.

Nick Perri tells Premier Guitar about "Bella", his '57 Les Paul reissue from Gibson.

This is probably the guitar I've had the longest, since I've started. I bought it new in 2002... it was a brand new guitar, and I estimate I've played about two thousand shows with this guitar.... It's on the new record a ton. It's so beat up. It's a '57 reissue from 2002. It came with gold hardware, I changed it to nickel at some point. It's a solid mahogany body with a mahogany top, which is the specs per 1957. ... It's a great Les Paul Custom.
