Pino Palladino played a Moon JJ-4 300B bass, recognizable by its completely white finish, during the Voodoo tour with D'Angelo from March to October 2000. A photo from Soulfest Brisbane 2014, available on Beaveronthebeats, shows Pino using this distinctive bass. Notably, he tuned his Moon basses down one whole step (D-G-C-F), a technique shared by the legendary Larry Graham, also a known Moon bass player.

This image shows Pino playing a Fender JAB J-Craft Jaguar Bass (Deluxe Jaguar Bass).
The image provided is from a 2021 Fender article on the Jaguar bass. It had the caption, "(In 2012) Pino Palladino rocks a Jag Bass while performing with the Who, including on the group’s recent Quadrophenia and More tour." As per Fender, the bass is featured on The Who's 2013 album, 'Live in London.'
A Mixdown Magazine article claimed that his Jag bass was equipped with Thunderbird pickups. There are pictures online to support his use of the pickups on a precision bass, but not on the Jaguar.

Pino favored a vintage 1961 Fender Precision in the early 2000s, which he notably used on Paul Simon’s 2006 album Surprise. The body of his signature edition Fiesta Red p-bass is based on it, while the neck was based on a 1963.
