Pino Palladino played a Moon JJ-4 300B bass, recognizable by its completely white finish, during the Voodoo tour with D'Angelo from March to October 2000. A photo from Soulfest Brisbane 2014, available on Beaveronthebeats, shows Pino using this distinctive bass. Notably, he tuned his Moon basses down one whole step (D-G-C-F), a technique shared by the legendary Larry Graham, also a known Moon bass player.

A Mixdown Magazine article claimed that his Jag bass was equipped with Thunderbird pickups. There are pictures online to support his use of the pickups on a precision bass, but not on the Jaguar.
