Rich Williams' Guitars
Williams can be seen playing this custom PRS at around :53s in this official music video for "Carry On My Wayward Son".
I photographed Rich playing the Les Paul at the Feb 3, 2020 Kansas show at The Villages, FL. I also saw him play the goldtop in December 2018 in Daytona Beach.
To quote the Kansas FB group's admin, Rick Yon: It's a 2012 Re-issue of a 1957 Gold Top. The pickups cost $900 a pair and there is a waiting list over 2 years long for them. Rich has #43 and #71 of 100.
Early in Kansas, he played a Gibson L-6S that’s still part of his collection of about 30 guitars. He also plays a Martin D-28 based on the one he used on “Dust in the Wind.”

"For guitars, I used a PRS Custom 24 and a PRS McCarty with Lollar pickups. I also used a Telecaster in spots to bring clarity to some of the low-note passages."
