At 2:29 in this video, Robert DeLong talks about his drum pad which he uses to control and play samples. He then says he "controls parameters on the samples like reverb, delay, or a filter or whatever, with either joystick or this thing over here..."

In the live performance video "Long Way Down," Robert DeLong is seen using the Alesis VI49 USB MIDI Pad Keyboard Controller, marking a transition from his previous M-Audio Axiom 25 keyboard.

He has also moved from the m-audio axiom 25 keyboard to the new alesis v25 keyboard

Robert DeLong posted a picture on Instagram with a Livid Instrument's custom controller, captioned: "Getting my dope new custom controller from @lividinstruments all programmed and ready for action! This thing looks amazing!!!!" -@robertdelong , September 2015.

"This thing right here, it's just a basic MIDI controller keyboard, Axiom... I also use the drum pads quite a bit." (3:35)

Robert uses 2 Macbook Pros in his live set to run Logic and Ableton simultaneously.

DeLong covers CHVRCHES' "The Mother We Share" using mainly the MIDI Fighter 3D, amongst other controllers.

In a MusicRadar article, he says, "...I use an Axiom 25 key MIDI keyboard, and generally use it for rather standard things, like playing keyboard sounds or triggering drum sounds with the included finger drumpads." At 3:46 into the video tour of his live setup, DeLong says, "...this little guy... it's a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24. Just a simple audio interface, 6 physical outputs. I route those to my direct boxes, I have things parsed out to different groups that I send to front-of-house."

"I use a Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad as an alternative sample trigger device. I find that, being a rather mediocre keyboard player, I am in some ways better at controller combos than piano fingerings."

Question asked to him on Twitter, "When you make your set up, is your microphones part of your DAW or is it separate? What is your favorite midi controller?"

Robert's response: "I run my mics to both of my computers through my interface and into logic and ableton. I love my @DJTechTools midi fighter"

He was seen most of 2015 performing live and in new music videos with his custom livid controller
