We have one with the SP 808 EX OS, which enables use of 250 mb zip drive and a lot of other functions. Used it a lot in the old days live for triggering samples, we used the internal synth as well
Use it live for acid basslines both internally and externally MIDI sequenced
Use in studio for pads mostly, sometimes live as a master keyboard
Use in studio for sampling from vinyl and as MIDI sequencer
Sonique (Colombia) mentions using the Hohner Student 32 Melodica for certain dub-influenced tracks, where it's enhanced with tape delay effects. This usage is highlighted in a Facebook photo post by Sonique.
