Stephen O'Malley's Gear
A very expansive and experimental reverb processor based off high-quality studio reverb units from the 1970's and 80's. It comes with a freeze switch which is greatly utilized for O'Malley's droning guitar style. 7 algorithms: Room, Hall, Plate, Ambient, Chorus, Non-Linear and Primitive. All of which add grain and warmness to the sound making the Bam great for pairing with O'Malleys massive sound and powerful amps.
Stephen O'Malley uses the Oto Machines BIM, a studio-quality delay processor, known for its unique ability to enhance the droning sound typical in his performances. This effect is achieved through its analog and 12-bit circuitry, providing a sweet degradation and dark damping reminiscent of a tape delay. A photo on Imgur, showcasing O'Malley's pedal board from his Sleep shows in Europe, includes the BIM, highlighting its role in his setup.

"We did a few duo shows last year, and in one of those shows, we had an extended backline that involved four full stacks each, three Ampeg stacks each, a half stack, a Sunn half stack with a vintage Sunn cabinet, a 50-watt vintage Sunn – like a Sonaro and Solarus – and a Fender Twin on the very outside wings.
