Not impressed with the witch hunt over how KRK apparently sucks. They make okay gear that is popular... They do need to put some more thought into their circuitry. Picked up a set for $100 on local classifieds, one was blown. Turns out the power rail capacitors leaked and fried a resistor. Easy fix, so very cheap for me!
It's actually pretty overkill. I don't use 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound.
Tight for a cheap sub. Works well in small rooms. Punchy, not rumbly. Bottoms out at around 45Hz and has a high crossover at 80Hz. Can't be beat for the price, unless you get something nicer used. I pair it with Polk S4 monitors and they sound great.
The Polk S4 monitors are beautifully simplistic, passive speakers from the mid 90s.The 1" silk dome tweeter and 6.25" woofer can handle 100w and have superb stereo imaging. Tone is on the warm side, so they are better for general listening use. The S4's effective frequency range is 50-23,000 Hz.
Mine are paired with a Polk PSW110 sub. Very nice.
Well rounded SDC. Kinda low max threshold, but that's more of a condenser thing.
Since my last comment on this drumset, I've bought more cymbals and done a full head replacement. It's great! Currently in the process of mic'ing it all up.

This thing started out will all kinds of issues, but in 2014 Tascam released a new driver that made it just work. Solid but cheap feeling knobs.
Getting old enough to be super cheap used, is still comparable to the current Tascam 16x08. Picked mine up for $80 locally to start setting up a drum rig.
This little thing has 25 mini keys. They don't feel very good.
These things took a while to burn in, but once they were they improved their sound drastically. While they have a decent response, the material the ear pads are made out of hardens over time and gets uncomfortable. In terms of long term use, these phones are not comfortable enough for wearing for long periods of time.
It doesn't even matter if you like FL that much because of the end of year sales + lifetime free updates.
Anyone trying to compare LMMS to things that cost money needa clamp. It's free, made for free by volunteers. That's pretty dang impressive. Want more? Spend money on something better. Bang for buck: Infinite.
