Critic Reviews

Tascam US1641

soundonsound.com

The Tascam US-1641 impresses with its 16-input capacity and robust build, offering a budget-friendly solution for home studios needing multiple analogue inputs. The inclusion of Cubase LE 4 adds value, though its MIDI functionality is limited. Installation is straightforward but marred by potential Nvidia USB controller issues. Notable downsides include its fiddly front panel knobs and crackling noise when switching phantom power. While not groundbreaking, it provides ample inputs for the price, serving as a solid choice for studios with considerable analogue needs but minimal MIDI demands.

Good Budget Option

Getting old enough to be super cheap used, is still comparable to the current Tascam 16x08. Picked mine up for $80 locally to start setting up a drum rig.
