Polk Audio PSW10 (black) review: Polk Audio PSW10 (black) - CNET

cnet.com

The Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofer impresses with its balanced blend of home-theater thrills and musical bass clarity, defying its modest 50-watt power rating. Its robust MDF build and compact size make it suitable for small to moderate-sized rooms, delivering deep bass with precision, especially on percussion-heavy tracks. While it lacks a direct/LFE input, which could simplify integration with satellite speakers, the PSW10 still pairs well with Polk's Monitor 30s. Available in black or cherry, it also boasts an extended warranty, adding to its value. However, those with larger spaces might consider the more powerful PSW12 model.

We have tested the Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofer! - Perfect Acoustic

perfectacoustic.co.uk

The Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofer impresses with its clear, detailed bass and is a great value for its price. Ideal for small to medium-sized rooms, it boasts an elegant design and integrates seamlessly into most sound systems. The 50-watt RMS amplifier delivers excellent sound even at low volumes, and the intelligent sensor features add convenience. However, the lack of a direct LFE input and its struggle to fill larger rooms with powerful bass are drawbacks. Overall, a solid choice for enhancing home sound systems without breaking the bank.

The Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofer shines with its powerful, clean bass that remains composed even at higher volumes. It's a great fit for average-sized rooms, offering tight, controlled sound without distortion. The setup is straightforward, and its refined wooden appearance blends well with most interiors. While it lacks magnetic shielding and is somewhat hefty at 26 pounds, the PSW10 still impresses with its excellent performance across different content types. Overall, it's a solid choice for enhancing movie nights and music sessions, earning a strong recommendation for those with suitable space.

Solid mid-range sub

Tight for a cheap sub. Works well in small rooms. Punchy, not rumbly. Bottoms out at around 45Hz and has a high crossover at 80Hz. Can't be beat for the price, unless you get something nicer used. I pair it with Polk S4 monitors and they sound great.
