I bought this thing used, and the minute I picked it up I knew I needed it. Mine is 2022, after a few months, it is my go to. The neck is the standout feature of it - it's endlessly playable, and feels incredible. I bought it from Guitar Center, and A/Bd it against older American Standards that were on site. For those who don't know, the Player series is built to the old American standard, and this thing was an improvement in every way. It felt better in hand, and smooth for runs. Highly recommend giving one a try.

I play a lot of old school blues, and it's great for that. Comes with Martin Retros. Although I've seen videos online discussing that it sounds "tinny" that's not my experience. But I will concede that it's about how you play it. If you want a big sounding, cowboy chord guitar, this probably isn't it. But if you want to play licks on the high strings, and fingerpick to your heart's content, you'll get that 40s sound and wish you were better at recreating.

If you want the boost function of the Klon, this is it. This is great for pushing those upper mids, and taming the bottom end just enough to really make sure you're sitting just right in the mix. I don't use it with the drive turned up, I'm sure that sounds fine, but I don't think this particular Klone was meant for that sort of thing. It seems very happy to act as a tone shaper and conditioner and be the foundation of your sound, rather than doing it all. I run it into a Bluesbreaker, and it's been my core sound for years.

For $35, this is some serious bang for buck, but the capacitor mod is essential to make it sound great.

Great for getting fat rock distortion tones for juicy 80s rhythm. Kinda lacking when it comes to lead work; notes don't sustain very well. But if you're looking for fat dense chord sound, this might do it for you.

This is a fine delay. The analog voicing really doesn't do anything for me. But as a first pedal, it's perfectly adequate. When it's engaged, it kicks in about 2dB of volume, and for me personally, that's unacceptable. I want to be in complete control of my tone at all time, which often means setting up my pedals at unity, or more for whatever I need in a particular scenario. Not being able to have the delay without the boost makes it so that this pedal is undesirable for my purposes.
