As a practise amp, it works

As my first amplifier, it is quite well made. The reverb sound fantastic, but the drive lacks a slight amount of tone. As a beginner amp, it does its job. Very clean, but too many effects will distort the signal heavily, which would not make it an ideal amp for gigs that require a more specialised sound.

Super Useful

Quite generic and general, it has everything you need to amplify your bass or guitar sound and nothing more. It can be found at a good price second hand or even new, it has a quite affordable price.

Straightforward and effective

Great amp for practice. Overdrive tone leaves a bit to be desired, but the cleans are true Fender cleans. Takes pedals pretty well and the line in/line out jacks are great for practicing alone. Reverb is very useful and it can get pretty loud for 25 watts solid state.

Haven't tried using it in a band setting but I doubt it would be powerful enough. Definitely best for bedroom practicing.

Um amplificador que faz o dever de casa.

Falante com timbre Fender, Reverb de mola sensacional. Não é um TwinVerb, mas é um amplificador bacana. Já segurou muitas apresentações onde o amplificador da casa era um rádio de pilha.

shredneckguitartech

Great little amps

If you're someone who prefers the gain and distortion and enjoys having something small to carry around easier this amp is the way to go. Provides almost the same amount of gain and distortion of the boss metal zone 2 pedal

joaquinaguiargrahambell

Very good amp

It's an amplifier that sounds excellent, and the reverb it has is excellent. It throws quite a volume for its size, it's perfect for those who like a Fender sound and like to transport their equipment to always sound with the same essence.

too simple, too basic

its a simple amp with no special effects, except reverb (and the reverb is nothing special). its good for starter guitar, but too strict in their abilities

patrick_bakker

Modified!

I have a serie one of this model and modified it so it doesn't sound so hars

jimmarchi1

What'd you do to it?

patrick_bakker

I think it was a resistor in the tone circuit and a few cheap components here and there! It was a few years ago i found a schematic. just a few bucks worth of some passive components made a great difference in sound. if you want i can screw the thing open again to look. a downside to the mod was that LED of the dirty channel stopt working. i don't know if this is part of the modification or just a random incident.

Its ok for a beginner...

Its ok for a beginner... i need to buy a new one in the near future.

thtavrgwhteguy

good

really my friends and he lets me use it but regardless of that, it's really loud and can be heard over vocals and loud drums, nice clean sound too.

The red light is in the correct place to be the light of the Frontman 25R's "Drive Select", and the distance from that light to the Fender logo is also the same. Plus, the light is in-between two knobs, just like the Frontman 25R.

1997-2002 models of the Frontman 25R have the metallic corners, and is generally more cube like than current models.
