Gear 13

This amp weighs a ton. It is a 4-channel keyboard amplifier with 4 1/4" jack inputs and one balanced input (if you want to use that, you have to sacrifice one of the jack inputs). It had very basic EQ options with four knobs for bass, low mid, high mid and high. This amp is pretty loud but if you crank it up you get that nice Behringer noise that is to be expected.
The Lync has four octaves whereas most keytars only have three! I bought this one because it looked cool. It's quite easy to operate and it sends out midi commands really well. But most importantly, it just looks really cool!
I was a bit disappointed with this one. I got this synth after I read that Janne Wirman from Children of Bodom used one of these live. The display is small for a 2-unit rack and it is really not that easy to navigate through the functions. Also, the manual is near to incomprehensible. Interestingly enough, both my JV-1080 and my JD-990 have the vintage synth expansion card on board, but when I compare the same patches, the JD sounds so much better, even though it's an older synth! In all honesty, this rack does have some great sounds for electronic music and some drums loops are killer.
There are so many sounds to choose from (over 1800 I believe). This rack is a 1-unit so it does not take up that much space, although it leaves you with a rather small display for editing. Most of the sounds are more than decent, but I expected more from the acoustic patches. If you want a similar rack as your main sound source, go for the Motif Rack XS instead.
Even though this synth is digital, it sounds more analog than some analog synths (is that even possible?)! Some of the patches are so fat, it's mind blowing. What's also great about this one is its very easy programmability. Thanks to the huge display, you can see what you do as you are editing. If you can get your hands on one, make sure to get it together with the vintage synth expansion card for the best sounds!
This keyboard is decent, but don't expect great things from it. Most of the factory sounds are mediocre at best, but there are a few organs, pads and electric pianos that I really dig! I use this one live with my cover band Broken Voice, mainly for the organs. You can use the mod wheel to make the rotary effect and it actually sounds pretty realistic!
I play this instrument almost every day. I bought it mainly for its acoustic piano sounds, which are the most realistic that I've heard on a keyboard of that age! Its piano sounds still beat most Yamaha, Roland and Korg keyboards in my opinion. The KB3 mode on it (Hammond organ emulation) is a great feature! Only drawback is the Fatar keybed that's installed in it, which gets sticky and noisy after some years of use. And it also weighs a ton!
This is my main controller keyboard for gigs with my band Mordacity. I use it to control my Roland JD-990 and Yamaha Motif rack es. But it has enough internal sounds of its own that are very useable for any live performance. The keys are nice to play and the sound quality is good.
Even though nowadays I am using this keyboard only indoors as a midi controller, I am still surprised about some of the internal sounds. This is a great instrument. It's built sturdy, the keys have a nice feel to it and it's reliable. I am thinking of adding this one to my live gear someday as a backup keyboard.
The sounds of this expansion boards sound different depending on the module it's installed in. I have two of these cards, one in my JV-1080 and one in my JD-990 and I have to say they sound better in the latter. The presets are amazing, there isn't one that sounds bad.
Some of the loops on this card are killer. Check out the basses too.
I replaced the Behringer 12AX7 valve that was in it with a Siemens 12AU7, which sounds a lot better, especially in the low end.
Very basic mic, but it delivers! People are always amazed by the very clear results it gives. Highly recommend this one for any user, beginner or pro.
