I primarily use it for a clean plus a slightly driven tone. It's great at higher gain settings as well. But I'm sure we all need a pedal on the board that can give us some nice clean tone shaping capabilities. This is that pedal.
it's the only choice if you want to have choruses, delays, reverbs and a few more digital simulations of some boutique pedals in ONE pedal. A/B'ing it with analog pedals showed me that this isnt actually half bad! In fact, it saves a lot of pedal space. But it does get a little bit getting used to as it does a lot of things for its small size. Go through the manual and you'll be set. I am a simple person though and I like every effect separately on separate pedals. It's a bit of a hassle to bend down during a concert, scroll to the effect to switch off. So I end up using it for long shimmery reverbs and crazy tremolo delays etc switching on and off with one tap.
This device is a miracle. If you can't just take your amp and cabinet everywhere you tour, then this little box is your solution! one of the best cabinet simulations! just put it at the end of the chain. select the "cab sim in".. modify the settings to your liking. speaker dimensions, vintage or modern, open or sealed cabinet, mic placement. Trust me on this, buy it while they still make it! You will only be pleasantly surprised!
It's a great overdrive! soft rock, hard rock, country, pop rock - this pedal can give you sounds for a wide variety of genres with little fiddling. At very high gain though, there is a strong hiss. It doesn't matter though, because most amps do give that hiss out at high gains. this only shows the honesty of the joyo american's circuity.
It's wonderful at the end of the chain! I always have it on with a bit of room or hall on during concerts. Sounds very natural and gives that added depth and dimension to my sound!
it's simple yet it has the capability to create some great atmospheres. it has the features of much more expensive analog delay pedals, but still priced very nicely! love how the high end cut as the delay feedback fades out.
I use it regularly in my live shows. serves its purpose. It tries to clone VOX AC30. It doesn't do a perfect job. But whatever it does is pretty credible. And for the price tag of under 40 usd, I don't think there is any other choice as well. If you are starting off in the world of pedals, this is a great first pedal!
If I have a choice of having just one distortion pedal for the kind of music I play (hard and heavy rock), this would be it.
it's a great pedal. It's not only great for pedal, but in conjunction with other tone shaping pedals like eq, compression etc. it shines through brilliantly. rest assured, the solo will always come out on top. I experimented on it a bit to see if I can get a big distortion wall of sound, somewhat like Linkin Park had in Hybrid Theory and Meteora, I got pretty close. Very solid pedal. The price isn't too low. But trust me, this is a must have in your pedal arsenal specially if you are a music producer!
as it doesn't have any mechanical parts, it's movement is not the traditional one like on a digitech whammy or a crybaby wah. It's also difficult to strap it to the pedal board as it's bottom has to move while using it unlike other pedals whose bottom is fixed to the board. Keeping these two issues aside, it's pitch shifting capability is second to none.
Nothing beats this for its versatile tone shaping and absolutely and amazingly low price!
The single note runs or any other situation where you don't want a lot of attack to the notes, this compressor shines through. If you want more versatility, you would need another compressor on your board. Besides that, I have always thought that there should always be two compressors on the board to fulfill all the basic tone needs
Used a chromatic tuner all my life. But the strobe tuner's accuracy is pretty visible. A/B'ed it with other tuners, and this always comes on top. Love it and won't ever leave it!
