Description

The cavernous Reflector reverb pedal projects your sound into the third dimension. Six reverbs add diffuse trails to your playing without ever swallowing your tone. Its sturdy metal shell houses two simulated spring reverbs with their characteristic pulse and resonance, and alongside these are the ghostly textures of Reverse mode, and the dense sound of three studio-quality reverbs. The Reflector allows you full control over the six different reverb modes including time, damping, and level, offering FX that range from a spacious hall, to the sound of a studio plate via the beating of a vintage spring.

CONS

Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Marshall RF-1 Reflector.

Features and functionality

  • The RF-1 Reflector lacks a 100% wet reverb setting, limiting its ability to achieve classic shoegaze tones.

    Source
  • Mode 5 combines spring and room reverb, excelling at providing a unique sound before distortion pedals.

    Source
  • The pedal's reverb level control does not affect dry volume, enabling reverb-free operation when desired.

    Source
  • The RF-1's reverse mode doesn't perform well for shoegaze, pushing users towards other pedals for that effect.

    Source

Mods and upgrades

  • Users consider modding the RF-1 for live use, such as adding a footswitch to toggle between modes.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • The pedal is favored for quick noise bursts due to its lack of trails upon switching off.

    Source
  • The RF-1 is less favored for shoegaze due to its limitations in reverse mode and lack of specific tonal characteristics sought by genre enthusiasts.

    Source

Comparisons

  • The RF-1 is not the best standalone option for shoegaze, with users preferring a Zoom MS-70CDR for that style.

    Source
  • The RF-1's reverse reverb doesn't match the performance of a Digitech Digiverb for shoegaze enthusiasts.

Great Reverb pedal

6 different modes, all of them are useful. Like the other marshall pedals it has the spill-over effect which is really nice to have. Plays in the same league as the RV Series from Boss but doesn't cost as much.

A versatile heavy duty reverb!

It's wonderful at the end of the chain! I always have it on with a bit of room or hall on during concerts. Sounds very natural and gives that added depth and dimension to my sound!
