Wanna try the octafuzz tone ?
The voodoo octave is a cheap octazver/fuzz pedal made by Joyo. Fuzz, tone and volume knobs are pretty common, but there is a little mid cut switch to get a "Muffer" tone and a fat sound. There's also 2 footswitches : on/off and octave, which make it more polyvalent. Personally I don't hear a "real fuzz" like Fuzz Face or Maestro, it's more a high distorsion. Basically, it permits to get 4 different kind of tone : classical or mid-cut and both avaible with or without octave up ! And i won't talk about variations with the fuzz knob, that's pretty effective. The octave sound can't be activated without fuzz and adds an octave up. A famous sound heard in Hendrix or Neil Young's records, for simple riffs or legendary solos, but don't try with too complex chords or it will turn into a real mash !! To conclude it's a good product if you want to test the octafuzz tone at a low price unlike vintage reissues (and even more with only vintage ones), however it will necessarily need to be replaced. It's a nice stuff to begin, but a bit too 'cold' compared to vintage records. (A little trick if you find it a bit too "synthetical" as i said : try to set a vintage drive before or after on in order to get a warmer sound ;)

Nice fender sound with perfectible details
The Fender Super Champ XD is a hybrid amp with one 12AX7 and 2 6L6 but include effects like reverb, delay, chorus etc and so needs solid state inside. Actually, the first channel is a beautiful fender clean tone and i think it's a full-tube circuit unlike the second one. There's only a volume pots and bass and treble pots are common to both channels, the second one gets a gain and a 16 positions one to choose between famous amps modulations. Tones quality are very unequal and I choose the clean sound ! Effects are nice but sometimes a bit synthetical (chorus reverb) or limited because of the way it works : there is an unique pots to determine level and when you use tremolo or delay, you'd need a second one to adjust speed. However, the second 'F/X' pots gives you only 16 positions (like amp modulations) so there are 3 speed presets for tremolo and delay for example. To conclude, it's a very nice amp in order to play at home and even with friends in a band. It works well with modulation pedals like analogical chorus, and with overdrives too, however it doesn't sound great with high distorsions. Surprisingly, they work better on the second channels ... Actually I would say it's a great base for vintage distorsions. A Fuzz Face with mid-gain sounds really great if you find the tone that fit with your gear ;-) A nice fender amp with perfectible details !

Universal chorus
Probably one of the best pedal ever made by EHX changing your sound into a fantastic haze that may turn into a real storm ... just by turning one knob. Then, you can choose between a soft or a hard chorus with the switch. It's also the best kind of pedal for stage performance since it's very easy to change fastly. Some guitarists like to control each tendency of their sound, but they won't with this one ... another question of personal choice !

Part of the legend
I got one but sold it later ... i'm still asking myself why ! Almost all of my favourite guitarists played once (and some still) played on Vox AC serie. The jangle, the sweet treble boost, that unique tremolo : it was all i needed ! Moreover it's a very versatile amp in the life of a guitarist : with it's master level control, you can use it for the "midnight composition" and even in a small room with a softt drumer. It's elder brother AC30 would be too powerful for home-work but may have a more "authentic" sound ! Nevertheless it's a perfect amp for british crunch (and clean) lovers : from the brand that made it !

Large overdrive
I bought a second hand one for around 50$ (50€ more precisely) and never regreted it ! As i said, it's the largest overdrive i've ever heard : it can be used as a simple boost to a savage overdrive. Nevertheless, it's NOT a true distortion as its name may suggest. It's a powerful overdrive with a very useful bass selector depending of the kind of guitar you play, and two gain stages (hi and lo). A very very very versatile pedal working well through modulations like EHX Small Clone or a sweet AC's tremolo. The only reproach i could do is its too "transparent" character ... if you like your base sound, it will be perfect, but it won't really improve your sound. Actually it's more a question of personal choice than product's quality. To conclude i'd say you would always find something to do with it !

huh, I thought it colored my sound too much and mutted all my humbucker axes together even though they are all really different sounding... not that I didn't like the distortron, I did, great design.

Ah ... the eternal argumentation about what we hear and what really is ^ Actually i haven't been using it for a while, but i found it got a very transparent crunch on a Fender junior. The high drives may were a bit mor colored, true.

The Big Muff PI from EHX is one of the most famous distorsion pedal around the world. Produced from half a century, almost all of the guitartists tried or got one. It produce a harsh and loud sound with an infinite sustain !
