Acid Bath was a pioneering metal band hailing from the depths of the Louisiana bayou, known for their unique fusion of sludge, doom, and death metal with elements of Southern gothic and psychedelic rock. Formed in 1991, the group consisted of Dax Riggs (vocals), Sammy Duet (guitar), Mike Sanchez (guitar), Audie Pitre (bass), and Jimmy Kyle (drums). Their music was marked by intense, surreal lyrics and a raw, aggressive sound that earned them a cult following. Despite their short-lived career, which ended in 1997 following the tragic death of bassist Audie Pitre, Acid Bath left an indelible mark on the metal scene and influenced countless bands that followed.
