Kid Creole and the Coconuts is a vibrant musical group known for their eclectic blend of pop, jazz, Latin, funk, boogie, and Latin disco. Formed in 1979 in New York City, the band was the brainchild of August Darnell (aka Kid Creole), who was joined by Adriana Kaegi and Coati Mundi. Darnell's charismatic presence and unique storytelling are central to the band's identity, while the Coconuts, an ever-evolving trio of female backing vocalists and dancers, contribute to the group’s dynamic stage performances.
