Kingdom of Sorrow is a formidable American metal band known for blending elements of metalcore, sludge metal, and groove metal. Formed in 2005, the group emerged from the collaboration between Kirk Windstein (vocals, guitar) of Crowbar fame and James Jasta (vocals) from Hatebreed. The duo crafted their sound with an intention to pay homage to heavy metal legends while infusing their unique touch. To bring their intense vision to life on stage, they recruited Steve Gibb (guitar), Derek Kerswill (drums), and Matthew Brunson (bass), creating a lineup that delivered a powerful punch in the metal scene.
