Founded by Johnny Wator in 2012, Daredevil Pedals is a Chicago-based boutique effects pedal company specializing in hand-built fuzz, overdrive, distortion, and filter pedals. Wator started building pedals in an 8'x10' unheated basement shop after over a decade of touring as a musician, driven by a desire to craft his own signature tones. Almost all Daredevil circuits are original designs inspired by vintage pedal circuits of the 1960s and 70s, with an aesthetic rooted in muscle cars and rock 'n' roll. Wator has also designed circuits for Dunlop and Electro-Harmonix.

The Daredevil lineup includes the Atomic Cocked fixed wah filter, the HYPE FET Boost, the Drive-Bi dual gain distortion, the Real Cool Fuzz, the Chicago Rat, the Northern Creeper Fuzz, the Silver Solo silicon boost, and the Bootleg Dirty Delay. A collaboration with Dunlop produced the Daredevil Cry Baby Fuzz Wah. The Ron Asheton Real Cool Fuzz limited edition pays tribute to the Stooges guitarist's legacy.

Daredevil Pedals have found favor with a wide range of rock, punk, and heavy artists, including Matt Pike (High on Fire, Sleep), Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction), Brad Whitford (Aerosmith), Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon), Billy Morrison (Billy Idol), Scott Lucas (Local H), Phil Caivano (Monster Magnet), David Catching (Eagles of Death Metal), and Declan of Amyl and the Sniffers.

Daredevil Pedals has 31 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Fuzz Effects Pedals, Wah Pedals, and Distortion Effects Pedals. Their gear is featured by 7 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Metal, and Folk, World, & Country. Notable users include Matt Pike, Ian Fowles, and Steve Turner. Most Daredevil Pedals products fall in the mid-tier range — professional-grade without flagship pricing.
