DryBell is a boutique guitar effects pedal company based in Krapina, Croatia, founded in 2011 by electrical engineer and musician Zvonko "Zvonch" Suhodolčan. Suhodolčan began repairing, modifying, and building guitar pedals in the mid-1990s for fellow Croatian musicians seeking hard-to-find vintage effects, while working in R&D at Končar designing PCBs for rail and power systems. The catalyst for DryBell came when professional guitarist Kruno Domaćinović of the Croatian rock band Majke asked Suhodolčan to build him a great vibe pedal, leading to the creation of the Vibe Machine V-1 — a compact Uni-Vibe-style pedal that earned widespread acclaim and is widely considered one of the finest vibe pedals available.
DryBell's product lineup focuses on a small number of meticulously designed analog pedals. The Vibe Machine (now in its V-3 iteration) remains their flagship, while the Unit67 combines 1176-style compression, a flexible EQ section with Rangemaster-inspired treble boost, and a clean boost in a single enclosure. The Engine delivers British amp-in-a-box tones with an integrated EQ and Rangemaster boost, and the Module 4 offers dual-voice compression blending Orange Squeezer and modern FET styles. The company's pedals have earned recognition from publications including Premier Guitar, Guitar World, and Sound on Sound, with artists such as Joe Satriani, Steve Stevens, Joe Perry, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Charlie Starr, and Michael Landau among those known to use DryBell pedals.
DryBell remains a small, family-run operation. All design, assembly, and shipping are handled in-house, with manufacturing partnerships with local Croatian companies for specialized processes like SMD assembly, CNC machining, and powder coating.
