Hovercraft Amps is a custom amplifier and effects builder based in Portland, Oregon, founded by Nial McGaughey, who also started the audiophile guitar cable company Solid Cables. The shop operates on a "reuse, recycle, rerock" philosophy, sourcing vintage and discarded amp chassis, transformers, and parts and rebuilding them into hand-wired tube amps. Sonic inspiration draws from vintage Matamp, Orange, Laney, and Portland's own Sunn Amplifiers, giving the amps a reputation within stoner, doom, and heavy psych circles.

The product line centers on tube heads and combos, including the Caribou, the Dwarvenaut 20, the KT88-powered Andromeda, and the Elder Giant bass amp, along with matching speaker cabinets. Many builds are one-off or semi-custom, with customers choosing tolex, grill cloth, and tonal voicing.
