Tried 3 times to upload a png image file. Keep getting a fullscreen black page with the words

"301 Moved Permanently" at the top , and a little "nginx/1.16.1" beneath it.

I give up.

Once again, Im having to add a product, even though its really popular, and has been out about a year. It would be nice if just for once, I searched for something and it was already listed. 9 times out of 10, I'm having to add them myself, and when they screw up like this, its just tedious.

BX console amek 9099. I added it. I dunno what happened, but the brand is Brainwor instead of Brainworx. I've tried to change it twice and it won't save.

Trying to add a photo to my gear, and every time it says "301 moved permanently".

I initially had a photo uploaded, but then needed to crop it. I deleted the old photo, but all I wanted to do was replace the old photo with a new one, and now it won't allow me to upload any photo, even when I've renamed the photo.

Could someone please fix this, and maybe, please add an option to simply "replace" the old photo with a newer updated one ? Thanks.

It definitely does give you the impression that you're about to enter a duplicate, and who knows how many other people over the course of a year thought about adding streamliner and turned back at that point. I've bought more plugins by smaller developers and I know they aren't gonna be in the database, and I can't be bothered adding them everytime, when I don't have enough time already to do the things I really "should" be doing.

This plugin has been released over a year and there was no entry for it. When I started to enter it, it said it already existed and I shouldn't add an identical item, but the item it referred to was Adptr Magic AB, which is a completely different plugin entirely.

I just wish I could come here and select plugins that have already been added, but it seems every time I come there, I'm adding them myself. Last time I had to add 4, and now here's another that was released over a year ago, and I had to add it =(

Meter plugins. Either that, or VST utilities as there are a lot of miscellaneous plugins that just don't fit into current categories.

yeah, but if you wanted to make an effect, instrument wouldn't cover that base. I know most people use them to create synths, drums and sequencers, but if you left it open as just modular environment, you wouldn't get someone else asking for a modular "effects" category in 6 months =P

well, sorta, because they aren't just confined to instruments and you can make anything you want to make

Oh I know that someone has to be the first, but it seems to be me, a lot. Cherry Audio Memorymode for instance......massively popular memorymoog clone. I was sure it would be here as it was released weeks ago, but there was no sign of it. Seems every time I buy a new thing, I have to add it myself. I added 4 just today. Blue Cat Late Replies, A.A.S. Multiphonics CV-1 ( which is the modular synth I was enquiring about ), Cherry Audio Memorymode, and Zplane Peel.

As for the modular category, they aren't just synths, as i'm sure you know you can make drum machines, samplers, effects etc...in them as well, and there are enough of them now to justify having their own category, because they are quite different. You got cherry audio voltage, softube modular, a.a.s. multiphonics cv-1, reaktor, and VCV will be releasing a vst version before the end of the year, plus others I can't recall right now. If you want to find a modular environment, it's a very specific thing, just as the need for a delay category is different to a reverb, even though a reverb is technically a lot of delays. we also have separate categories for limiters and compressors, even though they are fundamentally the same thing with different ratios, so I don't think it's splitting hairs to have a category for a modular environment.

because I'm organised, and I suspect others are too. It seems every vst I look for on here, I have to add myself because there is no record of it prior to me searching for it. I have added loads. If I can do a bit of work, so can you ? =P

I was adding A.A.S. Multiphonics CV-1 and I selected music software > Instrument> and had to pick something generic like synth because there is no category for modular that I can see. I mean for VST modular, not actual physical things like Eurorack etc... Cheers =)

I've now tried 3 times to upload an image for Unfiltered Audio Bass Mint. I buy new software all the time and I've had to create a lot of entries as they weren't there when I searched.

I don't get any extra points for my efforts ( Hint hint )

Normally they're ok , but this time, I give up.

1. I added a png which worked but was too small
2. I enlarged the image but my image software saved as jpg. Didn't show up on equipboard
3. enlarged and saved as png, as that worked the first time

the last attempt resulted in an empty space where the image should be.

Can someone please fix this ? Thanks

I listen to some of my early work, and although I had much less of a clue about what I was doing than I have now, I think I was more creative in some ways, due to the lack of equipment. When I had 5 vsts, I thought more about how to get around limitations............how to make the little I had then sound like it was "more". Now that I have a million and 5 vsts, I sometimes briefly suffer from "option paralysis" because i'm literally spoilt for choice.

This got me thinking if I was forced to choose what to keep and what to put in a safe for a year, what would I keep ?

So i'll open it up and ask you guys.

If you were told that for some arbitrary reason, all your vsts were being confiscated, and you could keep only 1...........( and had to make every sound on it, including drums )........which synth would you choose to keep as your desert-island synth ?

Romplers and anything which plays entire drum loops excluded, as they mostly encourage laziness and diminish the something-from-nothing approach of this.

The only one of those I've heard of is Mike Paradinas. Graham Massey of 808 State told me about 16 years ago that I should've been on his Planet Mu label, so I sent a demo to Mike. Never heard a thing back. Reminds me of that old maxim "if at first you don't succeed, stop wasting money on stamps"

It looked like an explosion in an oxfam shop before =P

Sounds Good. Im mostly ITB, so my outboard gear is basic compared to some other oeoples. I love looking at Studio photographs though, and seeing how people utilize their space, and have R2D2 on their speakers etc....

well, that's the trouble with trampolines. No sooner have you got one shoe on, than the puree is all over the window and up the walls. It's a peculiar kind of antelope for sure......

I'll be honest though.......back on topic.......I've yet to try Harrison in anger. I bought it for one job. I do all the donkey-work of programming, arranging, mixing in FL studio, and then export stems once I know the mix is robust. So Harrison was supposed to be just for mastering the stems, because of the acclaimed analogue warmth, and just to make it more of a clear-cut 2 step process of mixing in one DAW and mastering in another, but I just haven't got round to using it. I could equally use reaper as a lot of people have stopped using Pro Tools and used it instead. The plan is to be completely fluent in more than one DAW. Recently upgraded to Bitwig 3 so I have that as well. So many things to learn but there's only one of me , and I need 48 hour days due to 8 hours in the studio feeling like 1 hour.

One of the things that made me ask this question about being an artist was, and I've just been reminded of it a few seconds ago.......when you go to the page for the Korg Monopoly vst, and it says "10 artists use this", so I think " I own this........I'm an artist........so I should also be on that list so it says 11 artists use this"

The lists are confusing. Could we possibly have an option in the drop down menu on the picture of whatever gear that says "move to....." and then you see a list of whatever lists you have created ?

Exanple....I have FM8, so I create a list called FM synths, then I click on the picture of the FM8 and click "add to " and select the FM synths list, and it moves. I'm trying to do that now, but I don't see how to do that. I managed to creat a list after a few attempts where nothing appeared, but I don't see any way of selecting multiple synths and moving them to a custom list. Maybe I just can't see the wood for the trees, so if it's there and I just can't see it in front of my nose, I'd be grateful if someone could point it out. Cheers !

I'll mention 3 things:

1. I too have felt some frustration with the "show more" option post-redesign on both my Equipboard and in my Following list, I've occasionally wished to be able to show more items before the fold... but speaking only for myself, I don't know if "show all" would be the right solution in some of these cases, even without the performance concerns. I trust the EB Team will adjust if a lot of people note the chafe... but in my experience, there are rarely ever perfect solutions for these things.

2. @carbinax, dang you've got a lot of plugins. Consider me impressed. :D

3. If I had that many plugins, (per gchiaren's tip) I'd definitely try breaking them out into new categories, even if there was a "show all" option. Speaking only for myself, as someone who actually looks at other user's lists of plugins, I'd probably distribute between 4 or 5 categories like: Bundles, Effects, Instruments, Sequencers/MIDI and Analyzers... but you never really know how it's gonna look/feel till you just try out some changes.

That;s only the ones I've actually bought. I have lots of free ones.

I have a lot of synths, so I'll have to split them into FM, additive, wavetable, virtual analogue etc....so I could end up having as many groups and lists as I have plugins.

Yeah I understand bigger pages mean longer loading times. I didn't consider that, but I guess if you had 1,000,000 profiles, that would introduce performance bottlenecks. I was unaware of the lists, so I can divide mine up by type I suppose. I do that in FL studio with custom folders so I'm used to it =)

First of all, I'd love to know - what would you like to see on your profile to show that you're an artist?

The reason I ask is because there are two types of accounts on Equipboard - profiles like yours and mine, and ones that can be edited and contributed to by anyone. And to Jim's point, we're aiming to eventually make them nearly indistinguishable.

I haven't looked through all your social media stuff or Googled your name, so I don't know what type of "fame" level and exposure you've had, but the latter type of profile only makes sense if you think there are many fans out there who can't wait to contribute gear to your profile.

Like, it wouldn't make sense for ME to do that, because I'm not a famous artist in the least so my profile would just gather dust... also we sort everything by popularity so mine would be buried.

Instead I manage my own page where I can list my gear any way I want, write reviews to say what I think of it, etc. And I see you've done that to an extent.

So, that begs the question - what would you like to see on your profile that would make you more happy with it? Is it missing the genre & role tags (e.g. Producer, Guitarist, etc)? Is it missing being able to attach photos of your own gear? Do you just want some kind of verified "check" that designates you as someone who creates music and performs live?

If you tell me, there's a good chance we'll build the feature. 🙂

It's not the hardware version. I only have the Arturia soft synth, but for some reason, iot ended up being tagged as hardware. I've had to take screenshots of vsts quite a few times now because they weren't yet on the system, or it was a UAD version of something rather than a Plugin Alliance version. I never got round to fixing the easel.

and would you please write a goddamned review of your music easel and post a video? hardly anyone has one (I know like 1 person) and I would really like your review and maybe a quick hands on demo. I think we all would! REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW

I don't know what you mean by "music easel". Is this some feature I seem to have missed ? I have done a few short reviews and my gear score never seems to move anymore, despite having added about 10 VSTs that weren't on the system and I added them and the photos to the database. As for a video review.......anyone outside the UK might struggle to understand a Northern Irish man's accent =)

For this reason, I also really hate the fact that I used to be able to see everything on one page, but now have to click "see more" about 10 times before all my equipment is seen in one page. I have no idea why you thought it was "broken". It worked absolutely fine, but it takes far too many clicks now, and therefore too much time, to see all the things on one scrollable page.

It just seemed that there were "verified" artists who had some kind of seal of approval.

I've just released my 20th album, been played on BBC radio , and will be in issue 288 of Computer Music next month, so even though I don't tour, my music has been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times over the course of the last 20 years.

I take my art very seriously, and very much consider myself an "art"ist, so I didn't want to feel I was on the wrong side of a "them and us" situation. The only differences I see between me and those of my contemporaries that have achieved some measure of fame, is luck and location.

I don't say any of this, or seek it, from a position of arrogance, just from a position of elbow grease, tenacity and sheer dogged determination, and knowing I work harder than most I know.

I always put my equipboard link at the bottom of my album release pages on bandcamp, so anyone can look and see what I used without me having to list it all.

Signed in a few days ago, seen the new graphical updates, and went to my page where I had to click "show more" about 10 times to reveal all the plugins I have. I used to see them all in just one click.

It wasn't broken, so why the need to "fix" it and make it so much worse than it was. Please.....revert it to the earlier version, or add a "show ALL" button instead.

I've tried to add the SPL vitalizer vst, because I don't own the hardware version. It wont let me add the picture because it needs to be a minimum of 100px by 100px. If you know the vitalizer, you know it's a very long plugin and its 10 times longer than it is wide, so this 100px by 100px restriction is not gonna work.

I also wish it was possible to split vst synths from vst effects
