I always dreamed a Taylor guitar and now that i have it i'm the happiest guitarist on earth. This GS mini is easy to play with a beatiful fat sound despite the small body. The neck is confortable and "fast" with a really soft finish, the body is beautifull with an amizing smell, and also the pickup is really transparent and true to the original sound. Small but Great guitar!
Focusrite is a great brand, produces from low to top end recording gear always keeping an eye on quality. The Scarlett is no less, excellent build quality ,good components and amazing look. It has two inputs ,in wich you can plug XLR cables but also TR cables, with dedicated pre amp with gain knob (surrounded by LED indicating clipping and gain status). Still on the front pannel there is the volume knob for monitors, phantom power switch for both inputs, headphones output with dedicated volume control. On the back pannel there are two jack outputs and the USB cable to connect with computer (it also powers up the soundcard). USB is 2.0 so is slow and may cause some delay on the recording, but its ok for this price. Very good product small, good sounding and rugged.
T.Rex is well known for some good pedals but this time is a flop. I'm not a fan of Mark Tremonti but this phaser on paper can really be awesome but is not, The rate knob till twelve o'clock has amolst no difference and then it get to a wild wave that is almost impossible to handle. The cool feature is the grit knob that adds some drive to the wet signal. I'm really looking forward to buy a new one, this T.Rex has too much features with no quality. Last thing, sometimes it doesen't work unless you move the switch on the front panel.
Suhr is known for great guitars and..hey the pedal effects! This boost is powerfull and smart,it operates in two ways: clean boost, crystal clear ,gorgerous; mid boost, here comes the fun..mid Q and mid boost are the knobs that will change your sound and push it to the limits of your imagination. The good news is another one! it has a toggle switch that puts the KoKo in three different regions of your sound: mid ,low mid, high mid. Now you can spend the rest of your life trying to understand how many things can change with a simple boost. To me, together with Tc Electronics sparkle, is the best boost on the market.
Ok, the search of the sound of the original Klon Centaur is probably harder and more cruel than the search for the Holy Grail (not the EHX). But i think my adventure has come to an end. I went to this music shop in London,No Tom, to play some JhS pedals when at a certain point they guy of the shop gave me this pedal, just to give it a try. The rest is history, it sounds amazing ,warm ,silky! It works as a clean warmer but also as a crucher or as a boost, it's almost always on when i play. I would have give it 100k stars if possible. It is handmade in London and it retails only in that shop. What are you doing? Go and buy it!
Tc Electronics is a very good brand, quality and durability are the main features . No exception for this model, good looking and with a super bright LED. Runs in stereo or mono and contains three modulations : chorus, is good clear and true to the original signal; flanger, I'm not a big fun of flanger but i recognize that this one is good and smooth; vibe, probably the best effect on the box,it sounds very naturall and crisp..love it. If this is not enough there are the v2 of all the three effects that Petrucci uses when he play distorted (you can use them also in clean,he is not gonna come to your house and break your guitar ) . Also there is the toneprint switch so that you can create your own cool modulation and load it in the pedal! The controls are easy, speed ,depth and fx level. It's over? Nope, there is a toggle switch that changes the soul of the modulation: bright, normal, dark. I leave to you the imagination on how they change the sound. Anyway i love it because i can have three quality effects in one small pedal but I would use single stompboxes for each effect in studio.
Power supply to me is becoming a challenging choice to make. In the meanwhile i bought this Fuel Tank Classic. Ten outputs..that's a lot you can power up a lot of pedals but at a certain point you will run out of mA. Why? because the outputs are not isolated and they share the mA on the first eight and then on the last two (12v) . After half hour it will start to make noise . But the price..is great for what you get,the sizes are pedalboard friendly and the construction material are good.
I'm not a big wah user but as a session musician I recognize that is needed sometimes. I had this pedal for five years and i find it good, not the the best..it does the job. The graphic is badass and is very solid. There are many down thing: the action of the filter is not wide even tho is very warm, no LED to show the bypass ( can be inrelevant and all the old style wah didn't have it ,but we have the technology and possibility to have new things to make our live easyer, so why not?) , no eq . Is very basic but for that price there are better wah pedals.
The carbon copy is a very common pedal, thanks to the price and quality. It was my first pedal and is still here with me! I use it in the fxloop to fat up my sound, because is anolog and very dark sounding, sometimes to hear the repeats the only thing to do is to play in palm mute otherwise it will completely blend with the dry signal. So i dont use it as my main delay, i use it to put some very good make up to my clean sound and a mistic vibe to my crunch sound. Great pedal but if you are looking for a crystal sounding delay this is not your pedal.
I considered the tuner the most important piece of gear of any musician and the tc eleftronic polytune is the best tuner, hands down! It does the job properly, super birght led display with four different tuning visual. You can also set your tuning and it will show you the tuning of the instrument based on the one selected. And the. is polyphonic, strum all the strings and it will show you with maniacal accuracy the tuning of each string. Last but not least it has a link of the power so that we don't "waste" a power supply output for just a pedal that needs almost no power to work.Perfect.
This pedal is amazing, i have tryed it at Regent Sound here in london and i fell in love with it within seconds. The build quality is incredible ,details are perfect and the graphic is elegant and badass at the same time. The sound is very classic but with an ear to the more modern fuzz. Controls are easy and very sensitive and the the switch between "tight" and "big" says it all about the versatility of this pedal; the "tight" switch gives you a fuzzy sound but sith a distortion feel, it dosen't rage around all over your frequencies! The "big" switch takes you to the pure fuzz sound with frequencies that each it other and all those beautifull stuff. It is my go to sound for solos, no doubt.
Tc Electronics is becoming every year a more valid pedal company and this is the result. The HoF is a very good sounding pedal considering the low price! In the package you get 10 different type of reverb, the controls (decay, tone, fxlevel, pre dealy) are very effective and easy to use. The build quality is good as expected with true bypass and the possibility to run in in stereo. This may sounds as a common thing in reverb pedal but i challenge you to find all these features and quality in this price range. And then there is the "toneprint" in wich you can store your own preset created on the app provided by Tc Electronics website.
I had this guitar for two years and i'm always finding new sounds that it can express. Is very sensitive to the player and can can change the sound completely based on who is playing it. Perfect build and finish. The only thing i really didn't like are the stock pickups, i upgraded to the PRS custom 24 stock pickups.
Overall a great instrument
Great sounding amp. I bought it last year second hand in perfect condition. If look close to it you can see a very good construction, quality of materials and attention to details. The bag provided by the factory is very confortable and "smart" so that you cam carry in it all you need to plug and play. The sound is very british on both clean and dirty channel, and they hide inside a multitude of sound in them;from warm clean to smooth crunch to high gain. I personally help the clean channel to break up with a Klon Centaur. The power stage can be "high" or "low" so that you can explore many dynamics. Another cool feature is that in the "low" state of the power section you can decide wich tubes to use, this also helps to have more sounds! Is small enough to carry as a luggage on the plain! Downside..i'm still looking for them
