similar sound

These do sound and act remarkably similar. The Tone Master is slightly quieter, even at full attenuation settings, and it sounds a little more...mid-focused? The TM has a little less "high end sparkle" and "warm low end" so I guess that's synonymous with more emphasis on something in the middle relatively speaking. Whatever it is, it can be brought to be indistinguishable from the tube version (I compared mine side-to-side, even swapping speakers so both versions have the same exact speakers) with a few tweaks on a GE-7 or similar equalizer.
