G-310 Review | Epiphone | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Epiphone SG G-310 is a solid choice for beginners and budget-conscious players seeking a reliable rock guitar. It impresses with versatile pickups suited for mid-high gain genres, offering a commendable sound for the price. The guitar's build quality is robust, making it a dependable option for gigs. However, its bolt-on neck and lack of finesse in action and finish might not satisfy more seasoned players. While the G-310 excels in rock and metal, it falls short on versatility for softer genres. Overall, it's a commendable entry-level instrument, especially for those focused on heavier styles.

Good guitar, ideal for rock music

I bought one of these in black about two years ago. It is a comfortable guitar to play with a nice flat neck, though I haven't favoured this one recently as I've gone off the sound. I used to be into very doom metal and rock music which I don't so much play anymore, and this guitar is very much suited to that, with a very bass heavy sound. Despite that I still like it for what it is, and hopefully I will find a place for it again in my playing.

Sounds Alright, Plays Iffy

Got it as part of a package deal. Definitely not bad, but not amazing and kind of feels like a toy. I keep in in americ anfootball tuning and only use it on a couple of songs.

Holds it's Own

So i walked into guitar center, I was thinking to myself, whats cheap and whats on the "used" section, saw this beauty, immediately took it off the wall and flipped the price tag around. Gasp!, it was only $109, I plugged it in, tuned it up, and it sounded a hell of a lot nicer than any of the newer Gibson SG's in the store. It's an updated version of the basic SG with better pickups and i guess they didnt know it. took it home, changed the tuners, added a bigsby, and some humbucker covers.
