According to NamuWiki, John Cha started writing and becoming a brand ambassador for the Tatchi company, a high-end Japanese custom guitar/bass shop, where they helped made Potatoi's custom-made Tatchi 5-string Jazz bass. This specific instrument is currently not in use by John, and probably still in storage.

In the photo linked above, Potatoi, also known as John Cha, can be seen playing a Music Man Stingray bass, which he used on rare occasions. This specific model features a dark yellow finish with a maple neck, fretboard, and headstock, and includes electronics similar to a 1989 model. According to NamuWiki, John Cha has mentioned that although the Stingray is a good bass, he experiences dissatisfaction with its sound quality during live performances.

This picture shows Potatoi playing a Hoffner Violin Bass. John Cha's specific model of the Hofner is a CT HCT-500/1 Contemporary series, a much cheaper but still loyal to the original Hofner 500/1. It is still unknown when John acquired this bass, but in his Potatoi YouTube channel, his vlogs shows the Hofner as still being part of his bass collection.

This photo shows Potatoi playing a four string bass with a single-coil pickup. On the LaBella Website, it says that their Olinto basses are custom. According to NamuWiki, John Cha purchased this bass right after visiting the NAMM show, and that it is said that this particular Olinto model is a very rare model, making it very valuable.
