The Cheapest Gibson is actually good

Green Day was my favourite band when I started playing guitar, so naturally I wanted Billie Joe Armstrong’s guitar. I got one of these in blue for my high school graduation and I still love it.

Bought at an auction

My grandfather bought this one of these at an auction and I borrowed it and forgot to give it back. Lol. It’s not very good in the condition it’s in; the tuners were loose, I had to glue the nut back into place and something occasionally rattles around in the neck pickup. However, it’s a good guitar when it works and it’s my guitar for Drop C.

My first guitar

This was my first guitar ever, and I still love it. I know most people won’t give this guitar the best reviews but I love it because it was my first and it’s still my only single coil guitar.

Good pick

A great grippy alternative to the Tortex or standard nylon versions.

Nice pick

My hand sweats a lot, so something like the Tortex equivalent doesn’t work perfectly for me, but the grip helps with that.

Use wisely

Really fun to mess around with, but at least with my amp, I find it makes the tone really muddy, and it is a bit of a lemon. Just be mindful and you won’t go wrong.

Fast as hell

Super thick and super fast. You barely have to touch the strings to play fast and they last longer than most other Dunlop picks.

Best strings

Great for standard and down tuning. I used to play 10-46 but they started to get floppy for me. These strings are a bit of a learning curve because it feels like a big jump from the D string to the G string, but they stay in tune better and they don’t break.

Good Strings

Beefy and bassy on the low end, but slinky and dexteritous on the high end.

Good pick

Great balanced between normal pick and Jazz III.

Good pick

Great middle ground between Tortex and Jazz III.

Great pick

Perfect substitute for the orange Tortex.

Great down-tuning strings

Great for Drop C but they don’t destroy my fingers.

Best all rounder

I like this pick. It has the perfect blend of flexibility and rigidity.

Great lead strings

Great for lead playing, though they're a little floppy for me now.

Great pick

Surprisingly good for shredding.

Fantastic

I use use both light and heavy pucks and I found Ultex picks through the Jazz III variant. This pick is the perfect balance between flexible and solid. It doesn’t feel like it’s flopping around in my hand.

Perfect for fast but sloppy players

I’m a sloppy player trying to play faster, and these pick do the job perfectly.

Genuinely good

It’s thick, but has a decent amount of flex. Good for everything.

My Number One Guitar

I at first wasn’t fond of the King V and I was hesitant to buy it because I already had a Rhoads and a Dinky, but I am so glad I bought it because it became my number one pretty fast. Jackson really knows how to make good guitars for a decent price.
