want to improve a cheap guitar sound buy it, want to be heard in small cafés buy it, want to have a nice overdrive and gain buy it, want to have the power to make the floor contort with ur guitar buy it, want to be careles about care taking buy it, want to look different and cool buy it, want to have a warm tone buy it, want to be a piece of conversation (at least in Central America where they are pretty strange) buy it. BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT.
Layla as i call it was the answer to my hunger of modifications to my sound, it has an incredible noise reduction that i love and you can play for hours with only one pre-setup mode. But that´s the things its not very friendly and the name comes not from the song, but from a wench i use to know, easy on the eye, not gorgeous, very troublesome at first impression, hard to understand, with buttons that u have to know how to push, hard some times, and easy other times, but once you know her man u can have fun (for a reasonable price). The drum machine turns out to be a great jam inspiration, with some limitations of course. Now you have to bee very OCD about it if you want to use it at a gig, to set the songs before the jam in order, and remember the assigned number to the song u want to use it, if the settings are far apart and u want to use them fast; u better get a time machine. In conclusion good to jam alone or with a bunch of friends, in my opinion bad for gigs.
I really love this pedal, i got an used one of course when i went to Chicago, was my second pedal, and i could not wait to use it. When i plugged it the first time i could feel the metal in my hand (all of my other ones were plastic, sniff sniff, tear tear) and i had a cheap made in china guitar, and an awful amplifier, but it totally changed my sound, it boost my notes, and sustain my licks, i was finally where i wanted to be, and since that i been finding my sound, totally recomend this one if you are starting, today i wish i could have a vintage fuzz face like the on Jimmy use to have. Now the negatives are that stars humming a lot, and i mean a lot once you get the volume dial over 3 or 4, and you must rely on mostly in your amps volume, fuzz goes great to the max. great to buy for under $90
maybe its how i play, or what, i play, but i do not find my self confortable with the way it behaves, do not like the kind of distortion it makes and some dials do not control the out put as i wanted to. It´s cheap so it was my first pedal (in the dream of having a large pedal board), but if you want to play to heavy distortion do not use it alone, use it with a fuzz pedal or a compressor pedal and then you will find your self in that yellow brick road in the way to Oz.
Very cosmic.... Very "velvety"... You want to okay psycoledelic rock at a reasonable price this is the one for you.
Completely love this one. If you mix it well with an overdrive it might become a flager kinda like pedal
It feels like I died and went to heaven. I had awful single coil humbucker. Factory issued from a company called Skala (which I don't recommend at all). The new humbuckers are powerful, great sustain, great reaction time, clarity. I changed both neck and bridge. From a strat arranged to double Hummbockers
