Critic Reviews

DigiTech RP55: review after two days. - Effects and Processors - Harmony Central

harmonycentral.com

The DigiTech RP55 offers surprisingly good amp models with decent clean and dirty tones, making it suitable for practice and direct use. However, many effects lack tweakability, and some, like the pitch shifting, introduce noticeable latency. The cab sim is effective but cumbersome to activate. Overall, it's a fair practice tool with limitations in live settings, best complemented by discrete pedals for more control.

Digitech RP55 Modelling Guitar Processor (Multi-Effects Pedal) Review | Guitar Jar

guitarjar.co.uk

The Digitech RP55 is a budget-friendly multi-effects pedal ideal for practice, offering a variety of amp models, effects, and a drum machine. While it excels as a versatile practice tool for beginners, the sound quality doesn't match the authenticity of standalone pedals, especially for live performances. Its plastic build raises durability concerns, but it's a fun and functional solution for on-the-go musicians, particularly when used with headphones. The RP55's appeal lies in its affordability and feature set, making it a solid choice for casual jamming and experimentation.

DigiTech RP55 Review – An Affordable Multi-Effects Pedal - Beginner Guitar HQ

beginnerguitarhq.com

The DigiTech RP55 offers beginner guitarists an affordable entry into the world of multi-effects pedals, boasting 29 effects and 11 amp models. While its range of sounds is commendable for its price, the plastic construction and lackluster chorus effects may leave more advanced players wanting. It's ideal for experimenting and discovering preferred tones, but its design and sound quality fall short for live performances or recordings. Overall, a decent practice tool for those on a budget, but not a standout in its category.

RP55 Review | DigiTech | Guitar Effects | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The DigiTech RP55 offers a budget-friendly entry into multi-effects pedals, boasting 80 effects and a straightforward interface that caters to both beginners and seasoned players. Its sound quality and ease of use earn praise, but the factory presets may require customization to truly shine. While it's not the pinnacle of sound precision, its affordability and versatility make it a solid choice for those seeking variety without breaking the bank. Overall, it's a decent pick for its price point, though not without its limitations.

if starting and poor as i was....do not think, buy it.

Layla as i call it was the answer to my hunger of modifications to my sound, it has an incredible noise reduction that i love and you can play for hours with only one pre-setup mode. But that´s the things its not very friendly and the name comes not from the song, but from a wench i use to know, easy on the eye, not gorgeous, very troublesome at first impression, hard to understand, with buttons that u have to know how to push, hard some times, and easy other times, but once you know her man u can have fun (for a reasonable price). The drum machine turns out to be a great jam inspiration, with some limitations of course. Now you have to bee very OCD about it if you want to use it at a gig, to set the songs before the jam in order, and remember the assigned number to the song u want to use it, if the settings are far apart and u want to use them fast; u better get a time machine. In conclusion good to jam alone or with a bunch of friends, in my opinion bad for gigs.

Versatile and easy to use

There are 80 effects on the pedal and it is also equipped with a metronome/drum machine. Not always the highest quality tone. I only use maybe 10 of the effects. They all sound fairly similar. Bestir beginniners who aren't looking fir a specific sound.
