Bags & Cases

A good guitar bag for everyday use!

Having already bought a similar bag from thomann, after the first rains I began to doubt whether my beloved instrument would really survive transportation (usually from the house to the car and from the car to the music school) in a reasonably dry state. So I had to get a new one and after some research I decided on the Gator bag. I think you shouldn't cut corners when it comes to protecting your instrument.

The bag makes a really robust impression. The handles and other seams are well made and you even get a rain cover in a small bag on top. I put this over the bag in medium to heavy rain, but the material of the bag already makes a good water-repellent impression. The inside of the bag is covered with white plush and the support can be easily adjusted to the guitar to be transported using Velcro. In addition, there are well thought-out pockets with which music books, cables, tools etc. can be transported easily and in an organized manner. I roll up the guitar strap and place it next to the guitar.

Conclusion of the whole thing - definitely a purchase recommendation and perhaps one of the top bags in this segment!

Straps & Strap Locks

DiMarzio ClipLock Strap

Avg price: $24.77

Highly recommended as the first lock strap system

After seeing various professional guitarists with appropriate straps, I bought the Clip Lock System from DiMarzio as my first lock system and I have to say that I am very happy and don't regret the purchase at all. I was a little skeptical at first and was also a little afraid of screwing around on my guitar and possibly accidentally making the drill holes unusable.

However, the installation is very simple - you loosen the screws of the previous belt mounts and screw in the DiMarzio clips according to the screw size. If necessary, there are also tutorials on YouTube where you can get a bit of help. This also helped me a lot with my initial uncertainty.

The belt is made from the same material used for car seat belts. This makes it very flexible, not as stiff as other belts and it sits very comfortably on the shoulder. The buckles also make a very good impression and my initial skepticism about the belt quickly disappeared. DiMarzio also only offers the mounts (without strap), so that the other guitars in the inventory can also be quickly retrofitted with the system.

A clear recommendation to buy!
