One of my biggest regrets was selling mine.

I purchased mine for $500, back in 1995. Many years, good times and fun live performances on this. Wish I hadn't sold it when I did, but luckily I did (before having a house fire and losing whatever gear I had left).

why does the king of the Jupiters have to be so damn attractive too?

its like the buttons are saying "taste the rainbow!"

do I spy a prophet2k there?

Yes, ye ol' resonant filtered sampler. I do not miss those floppies.

Fun fact: Both the Jupiter 8 and the OBX were acquired for $50 each as "weird old broken keyboards" and "good for parts". Both were fully functional, aside from some janky keys.

those were the days, where I lived the deals were over by 98 and I had missed out on those $50Jupiters and Obies being a few eyars too young (right age to have forgotten about synths for a few years in the grungeera, spent my teenaged income on guitar stuff until 97 or 98)...

but man, janky keys and crackly pots are still the plague of 80s synths, I swear all I do is clean rubber sensor pads and spray out knobs and faders sometimes!

@xod I have a prophet 2k and I was thinking of modding it for USB so I'll actually use it regularly but I might just throw in the towel... sell her off and let someone else deal with the hassle.
