thedustroom's Music Gear Setup
This is my pride and joy. Well, when it comes to guitars at least.
When I got back into guitar playing I bought my Fender FSR Tim Armstrong Deluxe as I fancied learning more on a nice acoustic.
I knew about the Gretsch but at my level of ability it seemed plain silly to spend that kind of money on something I couldn’t use properly.
After a few years of messing about now and then on my acoustic I decided to get serious and start again, properly and play some tunes I really love in the way they were played to begin with.
The acoustic is great but it can’t take the place of an electric. With lockdown just starting and the world looking like a very strange and scary place I decided to just get on and go for it.
I mulled it over for a while but then one night, after a few Brew Dogs at home I had pulled the trigger and bought the Gretsch G5191BK Tim Armstrong Signature Electromatic.
It’s everything I love about guitars, it’s black with shiny, shiny gold-plated hardware. It’s beautifully made, it’s a joy to look at, to hold and to play and those Filter’Trons sound just glorious.
It’s also got the words Tim Armstrong written on the truss rod cover, which for me; is just wonderful.
I love everything about this guitar. It’s absolutely beautiful in every way. It’s delicious.
