This guitar is great in general, but even more so if you want to emulate how Ed Sheeran plays. This guitar sounds amazing acoustically, of course. However, if you want to loop the way Ed does, it is perfect. The top and the body work better to create the percussion sounds. The slight boxiness that comes with the small body actually works better than more delicate guitars. The sound of the guitar itself (from the strong) is distinctive in a way that fits perfectly the loop instrument you have created before hand as it cuts through the loop so clearly. The sound is distinctive though and it isn't for everybody. If you look for typical, traditional Martin's guitar sound, you would be disappointed by this guitar. I won't say one is better than the other; they are just different in tones. By using this guitar you can create sound which is close to how Ed plays, especially in his newer songs. For example, the live performance video of 'I Don't Care'. You will produce more similar sound by using this, instead of the Little Martin that Ed used once.
I like everything about this guitar! It looks and feels astonishing, from its headstock to its body. Although I prefer a more traditional soundhole inlay, like on the D-28, the pearl inlay on this is nice too. The glossy finish on the front, side, and back is fantastic, and it makes the guitar looks very luxurious and feels very smooth. Needless to say, this guitar comes with the typical Martin sound. If you're looking for that sound and an all-solid wood guitar, but you find Martin D-28 (and above) is too pricey, this is definitely a beautiful substitute!
