Martin D-13E Ziricote - Peghead Nation

pegheadnation.com

The Martin D-13E Ziricote is a stunning entry-level dreadnought that combines luxurious aesthetics with impressive sound quality. Its layered ziricote back and sides offer an exotic flair, while the solid Sitka spruce top ensures a rich tone. The guitar excels in strumming, delivering robust volume and clarity, making it suitable for various playing styles. While the high-performance taper neck provides a modern feel, some might prefer a traditional neck profile. The inclusion of Fishman’s MX-T electronics adds value, featuring a handy built-in tuner. However, the use of layered wood raises questions about longevity compared to solid alternatives. Overall, this model stands out as a fantastic choice for budget-conscious musicians seeking quality without compromise.

Martin D-13E Ziricote | Vintage Guitar® magazine

vintageguitar.com

The Martin D-13E Ziricote dazzles with its stunning aesthetics and solid craftsmanship, revealing a beautifully balanced sound that excels in both fingerstyle and strumming. Its Fishman MX-T electronics ensure reliable performance when plugged in. However, while the ziricote wood offers a unique tonal quality, it may not match the richness of more traditional tonewoods like Brazilian rosewood. Priced at $1,249, it cleverly strikes a balance between quality and affordability, making it a solid choice for both beginners and seasoned players alike.

Amazing all wood guitar!

I like everything about this guitar! It looks and feels astonishing, from its headstock to its body. Although I prefer a more traditional soundhole inlay, like on the D-28, the pearl inlay on this is nice too. The glossy finish on the front, side, and back is fantastic, and it makes the guitar looks very luxurious and feels very smooth. Needless to say, this guitar comes with the typical Martin sound. If you're looking for that sound and an all-solid wood guitar, but you find Martin D-28 (and above) is too pricey, this is definitely a beautiful substitute!
