Sheeran By Lowden S03 & W02 review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

A collaboration that hits the mark, the Sheeran by Lowden W02 and S03 models deliver impressive craftsmanship at a budget-friendly price. Their compact designs are complemented by quality electronics, making them ideal for stage performances. However, the smaller body and scale may not appeal to all players, and some may find the action slightly high at the nut. Overall, these guitars provide a fantastic balance of sound and playability, proving that good things come in small packages.

Review: Sheeran by Lowden W02 & S04 acoustics

guitar.com

The Sheeran by Lowden W02 acoustic guitar delivers a solid playing experience with commendable balance and punch, making it a viable option for aspiring musicians. Its simplified construction and laminated back and sides might raise eyebrows among purists, but the craftsmanship shines through, especially in the fretwork. However, the trade-offs for affordability are evident: a lack of deep bass and slight boxiness in the midrange can detract from its overall sound quality. While the LR Baggs pickup enhances its performance plugged in, the guitar may not fully satisfy those seeking the rich tonal complexity of higher-end Lowden models. Ultimately, the W02 serves its purpose as an accessible instrument but may leave seasoned players wanting more.

Sheeran By Lowden W02 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Sheeran by Lowden W02 delivers impressive, downsized tones and a superb LR Baggs electro system, showcasing excellent UK craftsmanship. However, its elevated price compared to Sheeran's earlier models might deter younger fans, while the prominent branding could alienate non-fans. Overall, it's a strong contender in the travel guitar market, balancing a rich sound with portability, but the price and branding decisions leave some questions for potential buyers.

Beautiful in sound, look, and playability

This guitar is great in general, but even more so if you want to emulate how Ed Sheeran plays. This guitar sounds amazing acoustically, of course. However, if you want to loop the way Ed does, it is perfect. The top and the body work better to create the percussion sounds. The slight boxiness that comes with the small body actually works better than more delicate guitars. The sound of the guitar itself (from the strong) is distinctive in a way that fits perfectly the loop instrument you have created before hand as it cuts through the loop so clearly. The sound is distinctive though and it isn't for everybody. If you look for typical, traditional Martin's guitar sound, you would be disappointed by this guitar. I won't say one is better than the other; they are just different in tones. By using this guitar you can create sound which is close to how Ed plays, especially in his newer songs. For example, the live performance video of 'I Don't Care'. You will produce more similar sound by using this, instead of the Little Martin that Ed used once.
