Description
The TG-60 acoustic-electric nylon-string Guitar Made in Japan by Groovin
The Groovin TG-60 is a rare Japanese-made acoustic-electric nylon-string guitar produced under the Morris Groovin’ line during the early 1990s. Designed as a crossover-style instrument, it combines the softer tone of a classical guitar with the slimmer neck feel and playability of an electric guitar. The TG-60 became popular among players performing bossa nova, jazz, and fusion styles because it offered comfortable handling for electric guitarists transitioning to nylon strings. Its lightweight body, onboard piezo pickup system, and simple electronics made it suitable for both live performance and studio recording. The guitar is known for its warm, mellow tone, elegant Japanese craftsmanship, and distinctive hybrid design that blends acoustic resonance with stage-friendly practicality. Today, the TG-60 is considered a collectible vintage Japanese instrument among fans of unusual crossover guitars.

Seen in various Instagram posts on Wave to Earth's official account, alongside the recent live performances in the Seoul Jazz Festival, Daniel Kim is seen performing and recording with this Groovin TG-60 Nylon Electric-Acoustic guitar. The Groovin brand was a subsidiary of Morris, and this specific model, the TG-60, is considered a rare model, being discontinued in the 90s, making Daniel's TG-60 a 1990s Japanese-made Groovin TG-60.
