Simmons SDE from 1987 is a 6 channel (kit of 6 sounds at a time) drum sounds module that uses a 2 operator Yamaha FM chip, no samples or subtractive analog. 20 preset and 20 user kits. Midi controlled only, no trigger inputs. It can also be played chromatically like a synthesizer. The sounds can range from tame to extremely abstract.
