I really like my kid, but I have 18 guitars and 1 son and I could always get more guitars but I am good with only having 1 kids.... there's some truth to what you're saying

ah no, I bought a firebird for too much money.... still struggling with that decision.
Its funny I don't think of myself as a gear god, I just feel like I know how to use the tools I have experience with because I mine everything out where a lot of people don't. If you ask me to reate a bunch of ractal aptches or soemthing I might not do such a hot job, I dunno.... but if you want your plexi speced and dialed in for a les paul and a quad of celestions then I'm your guy ebcause I know that piece of kit like a mistress named Candi. I don't even use all my stuff all the time.

its actually not that funny, but it was really relevant when i saw it originally because me and the wife were in a good patch and discussing the prospect of children and I ahd really started to build a non-music career to effect that. Big mistake, but hey.

ever see "The F Word" about all the american punk rock dads? A lot of your favorite bands are represented.

suicide by hanging
this si a pwoerful run of deaths, Bowie, Berry...

who doesn't have a long history of substance abuse? boring people, that's who.... its still not arule you're dying at 52. And they're thinking its a suicide and not the itnentionaloverdose type either. Weird. The guy's worth at least $60million, he gets to play in soundgarden every night, has 2 kids by the new wife AND he finally got all his gitars back from that bitch Susan Silver. You'd think he would be feeling happier than ever. Or at elast not feel like getting high all the time since he's go the world on a string. I wonder if he was just depressed, in need of a psychiatrist and drugs and alcohol had nothing to do with this. The guy wrote sme pretty dismal lyrics, he obviously was prone to depression with or without drugs. I don't usually wanna delve into these thigns too much but given the story here and my year to date its got me itnerested. I really feel for his wife even if they weren't getting along anymore. This is always a blow especially when you have kids. Although his fortune will certainly make the kid thing a little easier.
And Bowie. We all miss David Bowie. Now his watch is ended, we will enver see his like again.
Chris is defintiely a bummer, I quite liked King Animal when it came out and Soundgarden are really needed right now because there aren't many if any mainstream acts that daring anymore.

What is the oldest guitar you have?
makes perfect sense, good analogy... see, i would like that neck, big necks make you play better.... nt right away though
9yabout 9 years ago
me too, but I didn't write a note for like 4 years at one point... do something else creative that uses another part of your brain like cooking sunday dinner without a recipe, painting a picture or writing an essay about cheese, whatever's on your mind right now that will scratch teh itch a little. Music? it'll happen when it happens. Unless you like filler tracks and sophmore albums, then force it.
we lvie in America in teh age of facebook and twitter where everyone is saying too much all the time, if you think you're going to be profound then wait, otherwise you'll get a twitter-level song
9yabout 9 years ago
then don't force him... and wait. Forced songs suck. Where's the fire? Is David Geffen breathing down your neck, witholding your royalties because the record's late? Spring is in the air, forget about music, buy a case of beer and gather up some friends for a game of drunken wiffle ball or something.

What is the oldest guitar you have?
thr trouble is old hamronies, supros etc play like shit and require heavy modification to play well... there's actually a luthier who runs a business disassembling, reinforcing and improving vintage harmony acoustics to make them players, the theory being that the old growth wood makes it worth the expense of the luthier service ebcause its still cheaper than buying a gibson or martin of similar vintage in today's market

his ex wife is pretty hot in the way 75% of french women are regardless of their looks
I might add that Depp is a very pleasant if weird guy in person as is Will Wheaton from star trek and they are very amusing sitting next to eachother

What is the oldest guitar you have?
huh, that kleinanzeigen page won't load the pictures for me
see, I would defintiely record with a beater harmony because they are so distinct and kidna awful sounding.... but I only use acosutic guitar as an arrangement element and seldom the star of the show.

What is the oldest guitar you have?
that seems worth the effort though
a fucking dozen hofners?
yeah, well, we're talking 5 to 10 thousand US dollars. I could buy a used SUV for that isntead of getting 12 hofners LOL

still creepy, she's young enough to be my daughter if I knocked up one of my highschool girlfriends.... its also weird you know that
9yabout 9 years ago
wouldn't she be like 15 or soemthing? that's kinda fucked up
9yabout 9 years ago
What is the oldest guitar you have?
prewar gibsons are available and great but they are so expensive you would owe me a dozen hofners for one 30s archtop
9yabout 9 years ago
also, as a three year old I fantasized about shooting britney spears and dating avril lavigne (back when she was a skater chick).
I would still like to fuck Avril... she's adorable though even these days she has a look to her that says "I am sexually tame and naive." anyway, we would make a killer record together her fans would hate and no one would uy and our love child would be named Alistaire.
9yabout 9 years ago
yeah, the pickups were cool but I never played her. I played her so little I forgot I owned her after I moved back north form Washington DC... she woulda been a great guitar for somone, but not me. I wish i could find one with a rounder neck.
I have my eye on some other stuff nd I think I am setting a 20 guitar limit.

What is the oldest guitar you have?
My Teisco ET2000 (St. George MJ-3 or Coltone) rings in as a '63 hitting catalogs in '64. (second guitar from left on my 2nd gear porn pic).
i think we have a winner.... that's an early Teisco del Ray, wow

What is the oldest guitar you have?
The oldest guitar I have is an all-solid birch Harmony Stella H910 Classical Guitar from 1966. I got it on Ebay only 80€.
I'm so jealous of your possabilites of getting instruments like this for only a few bucks on flea markets or garage sales. Nobody imported american guitars in the early and mid 20th century over here. And those who have these vintage guitars now know their worth.
she's probably not a player, I mean harmonies seldome are, but she's really attactive.... I really like birch and beech as guitar woods
my stratotone was a fluke , those yardsale finds are rare here now thanks to ebay and internet info.... this was a fluke really. Honestly, i wish I could get old Hofners here. They are so thin on the ground in America. I have to get the picture of my harmony off my phone for you. Ithink I cna just post it to imgur from there. I'll see. Otherwise, my Yamaha and Greco are in my gear porn. I haven't photoed the hamer and burny yet, but they're just variations on the theme of a lot of my collection. I have been really into the whole les paul to SG spectrum the last few years so I am collecting up all the different gradations of those hsapes I cnafind. I still need another legit Jr and/or special, a Yamaha SG, melody maker D, Ibanez Artist and some of the newer guitars like a Gibson 335S, gibson lp studio DC, reverend sensei, yamaha revstar.... maybe even an original super-flighter. I wanna have a comprehensive colelction.

What is the oldest guitar you have?
ummm, that's the year I met my wife I think.... so it seems like yesterday to me, but I guess that's starting to be 15 years ago if you do some subtraction. Still seems recent

What is the oldest guitar you have?
Until yesterday when i sold it I had a late 50s Harmony Stratotone flea market fixerupper. Cheap piece of shit but valuable once it got an electronics overhaul and setup. Thanks for your money, hipster!
I think my my yamaha SA1000 might be the oldest by a biscuit, but I'm not sure, I would have to cntact Yamaha with the serial as it could be any vintage from like 75 to 84. the eck is really round and deep so I suspect its an early one though. My Greco doublecut paul is definitely a '77, my Hamer is defintiely a '78 and my lawsuit '59 burst copy is a '78 or 79, probably a '78 based on pickup/pot date codes. So they're all in there at almost the same age. Other than my 80s washburns and Carvin my other guitars are all late 90s and 2000s. In amps my oldest is the '62 Vox AC30B. The oldest amp I've EVER owned was an early 50s Gibson GA20, but not by a lot, I had a '55 5C3 deluxe as wella s a 59 GA14.... I had a 'small tweed phase' awhile ago after I stopped playing superleads. I don't know that you could call any of my oldies 'vintage'. To me the 70s is questionably vintage and they aren't cnredibly collectible guitars.... good player pieces that do the business but vintage? eh... the main thing I am looking for in older guitars is old growth wood or wood species thata re protected by international environmental statutes now. A played in guitar is sweet and all but it only takes 5 years of professional touring to play one in, so its really about the wood.
9yabout 9 years ago
down to 18 today. Herd thinned a bit.... mostly to make room for 2 I like better.
9yabout 9 years ago
yeah, I hate that... i wound up doing a partial trade for one of my Marshall Superleads because it was so valuable and the economy was tanked. No one could get near my very reasonable asking price in cash and I didn't want to ebay it. I broke down and wound up slowly selling and trading off the trade gear.
I think your trouble is that the ESP les paul style are not the best regarded japanese singlecut. Decent singlecuts though they are, they don't have a huge rep outside of heavy music circles and when i think ESP I think shredder guitars... when i think classic styles I think of their Edwards and Navigator sub-brands.
9yabout 9 years ago
now I own 19 guitars. My old harmony lasted a few horus on craigslist. Guy's meeting me tomorrow with cash. Wow.

gretsch sparkle drum wrap like on some of the jets...
inca silver
Gibson pewter
Ice blue metallic...
any vintage shaded burst, tele blonde (tv yellow, butterscotch or tv white, white blonde and any shade inbetween, doesn't matter)

I played a 600 dollar one awhile ago at the same sam ash I got the firebird from later on. If they had had the color I wanted when I bought the firebird I probably woulda bought the revstar instead. I've been in the market for a firebird for years now but the revstar is nice as hell. To my ear the 'single coil' control is a some extreme treble bleed network values.. I don't ehar single coil from it, but its neat. A little different than the reverend reverse tone control on the lows but the same basic spirit. I thnk Yamaha took a lot of cues from joe naylor on the revstars. I mean, REVerend, REVstar? Its like if reverend made a modern Super Flighter. Anyway. I am kinda looking at a beat up silver robert cray on ebay right now. If I pull the trigger I'll sell something.
The harmony must go, I am iffy on the firebird and I could do without my talman which I forot I owned until this weekend when I found it neglected in a case in a closet. If I ever get around to fixing up my Carvin I might sell that too.
