I really recommend it for single coil. In an environment with some electronic equipments / screens / electric issues, it's welcome to have this kind of filter that remove background noise. Change a little bit the sound of my fuzz, placed after (add some little bright metallic texture). So I use the Hum Debugger only when necessary.
Finally, a Boss pedal with a toggle switch to turn off the buffer... I love it ! Black rocks.
For a light overdrive, it's perfect. I put it after my tuner, it put a little of crunch in my sound... and it give more gain to my fuzz pedals placed just after (AMPEG Scrambler and Fulltone 69).
You can tweak this pedal until you find your perfect fuzz sound. For Hendrix, set the INPUT at max and CONTOUR at zero (Fuzz Face equivalent)... it's crazy ! It's too much gain for me, so I set both buttons in the middle.
Sounds really nice and very versatile ! True bypass. Based on the famous 4-stage Script 90 and the Boss PH-1R.
The circuit is really like the original Univibe, wow ! There's a little drop of low end with the CHORUS mode, but it's manageable. In VIBRATO mode, there's no drop of low end and it reminds me the ZVEX Lo-Fi Junky.
It's the tremolo of my dream. Sounds REALLY good. Only two downside : 1) I have the horizontal version 2) When you hit the switch, you can turn the volume buttons with your feet.. and you DON'T want that. I was almost ready to sell it BUT I just found a fix for that. Just buy some black rubber washers (1/4" x 1-1/4" x 1/16"), cut it, remove the buttons, and place the washers under each button. Press hard on the button while screwing it and it's done. The buttons are now HARD to move, it's exactly what I need.
I was looking for a Holy Grail with a TIME adjustement. This it it ! Really love the Plate setting too.
I prefer it over the Freeze, cause instead of generating a synthetic wave, it produces a real sound sample of the guitar sound. A kind of mini loop that can stay forever in background.. really organic and intuitive.
Just be aware that it's a razor kind of sound, not really versatile. You lose all your low end, so you have to deal with that.
