A comprehensive review of the Boss PX-1 Plugout Pedal! Now on the Equipboard YouTube Channel
It's true that the HX-1 is a bit more flexible, but the PX-1 is Boss' contribution to that type of market (along with pedals such as the TC Plethora X1).
Some switchers will allow you to reorder loops (making positioning a bit flexible) and you can switch between two different effects via a latching switch (which is available on some loopers), so there is SOME flexibility.

What do you prefer? Tube amps or solid state/transistor amps?
If I were playing an actual amp, it would be tubes. Yet to find a solid state amp that drives like a tube amp (sorry, Peavey Transtube...)
Irony is that I'm mostly ampless these days...

Anyone into Godin guitars? I am!
Had and LGX3 for a good 10 years. It was a great and versatile instrument!
My main acoustic is a Norman, which is a subsidiary of Godin. Also fantastic guitars!

Take it to a luthier. No real hacks for this that I know of, at least that won't further damage anything should things go wrong.

If those were my only choices, D'addario.
That being said, I'm an Elixr user since my hands seem to corrode strings rather quickly. I might get a week out of a set of D'addario strings. Ernie Ball is more like a couple of days.

First thing I would do is look at the gear involved in creating that tone. A guy with a Les Paul and a Marshall will never get the SRV Strat-into-Fender-amp tone, no matter how hard they try.
What are you trying to replicate exactly?

Issue is that sound guys and bar owners will have a heart attack if you walk in with a stack (let alone a Marshall Major! Gadzooks!)
With the advent of quieter stages, thankfully digital (and digital combined with Class D amplification solutions) are really, really close to the tone and feel of a cranked amp at reasonable volumes.
Should you still wish to run tube amps (and who doesn't?!), there are a number of reactive load solutions that allow you to turn things down at home and on stage (including those with IR options for live and studio use).

There's a headline making the rounds on my Facebook feed. An older article (2016) with the headline "Is Taylor Swift The New Eddie Van Halen?"
Now, at first glance, this may seem absurd. We all know that Eddie's playing is light-years ahead of what she can do. However, I do agree with this headline in some ways.
Does she have the technique? No. But let's not forget that Van Halen I was also the album that likely had kids rushing to the music shop to buy an instrument and learn to shred. Much like Taylor Swift, who has probably influenced a lot of people to pick up the guitar as well and learn to play songs.
So is she the new Eddie? In some ways, yes.

The Origin is fixed cardioid (though it has a pad and hi-pass). The Spirit is the one with the multiple polar patterns.

My main go-to these days is the TH-U Overloud Slate Edition. I've been getting lucky with that one lately. I also like some of the Friedman sims that come with Plugin Alliance.

Based on my current rig, it would be my HX Effects (though I feel that's cheating a little).

First off, thanks for the compliments! My enthusiasm stems from the fact that guitar and music are just awesome in general and that I get to tinker with a lot of fun little toys. I'm also a gear nerd and love talking about this.
Also, to clarify, the UA Dream was the only gear used! While I love a good tube amp, I went all digital over a year ago and really haven't used an amp (unless it was backlined) since!
As for the rest, I use an Aston Origin microphone, my iPhone 14 as my main camera, a Focusrite Scarlett Interface, Reaper as my DAW to record the tracks and voice-over, a variety of plugins from Slate and Plugin Alliance, DaVinci Resolve for editing, Affinity Photo for the graphics, all done on an M1 Mac Mini. The "pedal cam" was a generic GoPro camera off of Amazon, though I've recently switched over to an older iPhone for that view (which you will see starting with the next review.)
