Really? I'm not really sure if I like her songs or if I'm just attracted to her. She plays a 60s Epi Frontier and has recorded with Ryan Adams. Combined with the bleached blonde hair. I think I love her.

Do you guys know the Youtube-Channel of LA based "Norman's Rare Guitars"? They have a thing where they introduce a vintage guitar (electric and acoustic) on a daily basis. Just like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF6pi-WiP7o&list=PL-8DgYWallt4qxImM92WBZ4wjOez9Sonn&index=127
I just finished my master at university. For now I'm a jobless historian and philosoph and all I do is watch these awesome videos while wearing sweatpants and waiting for my wife to come home from work. I live the dream.

The Devil's favorite Demon + Bush + Hetfield. Pretty satanic choice.

Walrus, can you or somebody else tell those damn Dessners apart?
9yabout 9 years ago
Yeah, I didn't want to relate that the easy way, but I guess body and soul will pay the price for long years of substance abuse someday – at least if you are not Keith Richards or Willie Nelson. But I see your point! He always seemed to have an aura of rage, anger and discomfort. A voice and lyrics like his need to come from somewhere. There's an old saying which basically translates that paradise is the enemy of any artist.

Yeah, but he had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, although it has been said he was clean for some time.

So Chris Cornell died tonight.
I liked a few songs but I guess this is gonna hit you harder when you grew up in the late 80s or early 90s.

Since more and more of our old heroes are dying these days it's probably good to have an entire thread to sort our thoughts about the loss of musical and cinematic icons.

What is the oldest guitar you have?
Jep. Mine got new frets and new mechanics as well. But still: The neck is so massive and thick that it sometimes feels like playing a lamppost (Does this make sense in English?).
Internet info killed all the idiots at garage sales. That's a shame. I would love to get an old Epiphone Olympic or Frontier for a few bucks.

What is the oldest guitar you have?
I just searched for some Höfners on Ebay-Kleinanzeigen (like a german Craig's List). There's plenty of stuff going on, including a bunch of basses.

The Harmony I have does indeed not sing like an angel. More like whore. I like her nonetheless. The birch sounds pretty dry. I only use it as a couch guitar.

If you don't want another strap pin I would reccomend getting one of those.

What is the oldest guitar you have?
Getting old Höfner or Framus guitars won't be a problem here. We could trade stuff! I'd like to get a good old Gibson archtop and pretend to play jazz. Or a LG-2! Will we have to pay import taxes if we do so?

What is the oldest guitar you have?
I recently read an interview about wood quality of vintage acoustic guitars. It said that the big american brands changed their wood quality policy in 1972, which means that – apart from the individual condition and things like WW2 – the guitars built before that year will enhance their value constantly.
The oldest guitar I have is an all-solid birch Harmony Stella H910 Classical Guitar from 1966. I got it on Ebay only 80€. http://images.equipboard.com/uploads/item/image/48733/harmony-h910-stella-classic-l.jpg?v=1493552883
I'm so jealous of your possabilites of getting instruments like this for only a few bucks on flea markets or garage sales. Nobody imported american guitars in the early and mid 20th century over here. And those who have these vintage guitars now know their worth.

Any vintage guitars going on? I'd like to see them. Yeah.

That first one looks like a Fat Lady 1 to me. Because of the black pickguard and the dot inlays. Can't help with the Takamine.

I never stumbled across a Welson Guitar before.

There's nothing new under the sun. I kinda like both bands from time to time.

New Equipboard Categorization - FAQ & Feedback
It's working for me and I gotta say I love it. A big "Other Instruments"-Category would be nice since ukuleles, mandolins, harps and stuff are mashed up with tuners and computers. But overall it's great! Well done!
And it would be cool if there was a way to select like three favorite items which are then shown beneath a users avatar. Or just like the first three items of the first selected category. To be honest: I don't want those three packs of strings under my picture and I don't see how I can change that.

In his age he should probably be aware of that. True story: When I was sixteen I wrote a song and named it "Dirty Diane". I swear I didn't knew better.

Mine gets often overlooked for some reason. Those were deep lyrics. Check that hair!

Kim Welsh made the picture. The artist is Alynda Segarra (Hurray for the Riff Raff). I dig her shit – as you crazy kids would say.
