Yeah, Lena was on point when she won it. But she was also a bit annoying. I hate Russias acts almost every year. There's always so much money wasted on something totally tasteless. I didn't like this whole video-screen-animation-crap this year. Some years ago Germany sent "Texas Lightning". Remember them? Their song "No no never" is still in my head. And they were at least a bit ironic. That's one of the main problems of the contest I guess. Most of the eastern European countries seem to share a certain lack of irony and taste when choosing their contestants. Too many pianos gone up in flames, to many dresses with wings and far to many stupid background dancers were presented over the years.

The second last place for the Germany in a row. Seems like it can't get any worse. I hated them all. Yeah, Georgia had a rockband but they weren't good either. I don't get why I'm watching this bullshit every single year.

Thank you for the reply. As you probably know there are exceptions to every rule. When you think of the early Sigmas or 70's and 80's Yamaha guitars like the FG-180, not all asian made guitars were crap. I wouldn't have asked if I was sure about this one. And there are actually lots of full solid and partly solid Faridas around. They are not even that low priced (at least in Germany).

Maybe my guitar here is junk, maybe not, all I wanted was to get information about this model.

I need your help. After reading the "Worst-Guitar"-Thread I dusted off an old Farida guitar I had bought at least ten years ago. I never really spend time on it. While doing a little research on the web I found out that these dreadnought guitars are mostly not the cheap junk I expected them to be and seem actually pretty solid though they're made in China. But I couldn't find any information about the exact model I have here, a Farida WG-800A. Even the European supply of Farida couldn't help me out. Could you guys activate and combine your superpowers to get me information about this guitar I have here?

Looks more orange than red so I would say TU-2, but that's really hard to tell.

It's me again. I'm spending much more time on this page than in university. I was chasing for Rogue Waves gear the last couple of weeks. I finally asked Zach Rogue, the band leader, about his rig on Facebook and he answered me just hours later. I told him about this site. How do I use his response as a source for new items. I can't just post a link 'cause it's in a private conversation. Can anybody help me out with uploading a screenshot of the conversation somewhere?

Here's the link to the original Tweet. We use this software called New Relic which helps us monitor the health and performance of the site. It sends out alerts when something is out of the ordinary, and suddenly it started going bananas. Sure enough, Mr. Joel Zimmerman sent a whole lot of traffic our way and temporarily took the site down. Good problem to have I guess :)

Some major parts of the site were built with his music in the background, so it's an honor for sure! He was actually one of the first pro artist pages we added to the site, back in the day when it was just a handful of us manually adding every single submission.

Deadmau5 has a history of really making his feelings known when he doesn't like something, so we're VERY glad Equipboard landed on his good side!

Thought you guys would dig this, particularly the mau5 fans :)

I once bought a Farida Dreadnought which I found laying on a shelve in a guitar store. It was so dusty and it didn't even had a price tag. The owner must have thought that nobody is going to so stupid to buy that thing. Until I came in! I thought I might have found something like a diamond in the rough. It had a pearl binding and inlays and looked pretty fancy in all. The strings sounded muddy so I thought with new ones on it and cleaned up it's going to be fine. I paid about 100€ and went home. It was no freaking diamond and even with new strings it sounded muddy, pretty uncomfortable to play and it had just no sustain. Burned money. But it must still be somewhere in the attic at my parents house. In some years someone will find it thinking it's a diamond in the rough.

Yes. This is Gibson B-25 3/4 model, this is actually vintage guitar. Shame he put stickers on it...

True! Thanks buddy! He's Chris Isaak, he's putting stickers on everything. In an interview he said he wouldn't touch the neck at least so that if he's dead somebody can just rip off those damn things and let the guitar continue.

Walrus, I totally agree. And by the way: That hyphen in "T-Bone Burnett" needs to be erased. He just T Bone, Mr. T Bone. I understand if you have more important issues but if things like that are possible for mods, maybe those can do that.

There are far too many Gibson J-200/SJ-200's around here. They are basically the same model, although they come in different variations.

And in general: It shouldn't be necessary to put a "Electric Guitar" or "Acoustic Guitar" behind the name of an instrument when there are categories.

Edit: Merging Tapatalk with Equipboard? Sounds like adding a chat room next to existant forums. Not sure about that, can't say. Someone else have an opinion?

I don't see the need for that either. A search function would be more useful in my opinion.

Just wanted to get an overall consensus on what is the most important things that need to be improved, so combed through this long thread. Thanks so much for all the input, and we’ll work on making it better. In that spirit, I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on prioritizing the most important issues, so here’s a breakdown of roughly what I’ve heard so far, in order of frequency of appearance. I’ve also limited this to the top 10 suggested improvements since I want to avoid just regurgitating this thread. I’d love to hear from you all what if this top 10 list looks right.

• Removing items from boards. As humans, we make mistakes, and it would be cool if there was a process to remove incorrect submissions completely rather than editing.
• Editing bands. There should be a way to completely edit an artists’ association with a band, add new bands, and edit photos and links on the band page.
• Item categories like those on community made pages should also be on our individual pages (eg. michael’s board would have guitars, amps, etc. as categories)
• Allow more gear photos to be added to your boards. The 3 photo limit would be removed.
• There should be a way to merge duplicate artist pages.
• There should be a way to merge duplicate items.
• Add more categorization to items, but keep the overall structure. I’ll call this the Fender Telecaster problem. That is, it matters what year and model the guitar is, but not necessarily color.
• Better sorting for the product search and category pages. People want to be able to sort by relevant specifications, price, etc.
• Drag and drop for the order of things on your own page.
• Mobile app.

If that looks like an acceptable top 10 list to you guys, we can get working on it. Thanks, everyone! Appreciate your thoughts.

To start off this whole thing I'd like to say hello myself. I'm around this site for about a month and submitted some stuff but I never took the time to introduce myself somehow. My name is Alexander, I'm 29 and I live in the north of Germany. I sing and I play guitar since the age of 14. My main instruments are a Gibson J-45 and a Martin DRS1. I've been in different bands from quiet folk to system-of-a-down'ish metal but I'm mostly into indie and folky country and songwriter stuff. Ryan Adams is an icon and The Milk Carton Kids are one of my favorites. This site eats my time and I love it.

Hey lexman, Facebook posts are great sources, and typically viewable by everyone. Especially if they are posted from an account of a pro/someone famous/verified profile/etc

Yeah, my only problem was that FB is a closed network and Instagram or Twitter are relatively open to view.

It's almost identical to the normal 6120 without pickguard.

Yeah, solved this issue with the help of the Gretsch Community. It's a G6120SSLVO. I can sleep now.
