Removing items

Yep, there is a little x inside of a circle at the bottom of any of your items if you're browsing your profile on a computer. Or you can go to the item that you have and hit the Saved status to change that.

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas! [Feb 2017]

What about those items that have multiple images? They appear to be a failure as it seems that you can not do it on purpose and then it seems imposible to handle those images (which many times include redundant pictures that should be deleted and then many other times the main image is not even the best "choice" of the bulk and it seems that we can not fix that nor any kind of order).

FENDER STROCASTER VS TELECASTER

As many others, my first guitar was a Strat. Right now my main axe is a Telecaster and I'm super fine with that. I don't need the extra features of the Strat, a nice Tele is about simplicity to me: you grab the guitar, then you pick the mic position and that's it, gorgeous sound achieved.

the gear that got away -- list your lost items here

By now I just remember a few things: • A 4x10 guitar cabinet that I left at my former drummer's family attic (I think that we prefer not to talk to each other) • A vintage Big Muff Pi that I can't even remember who I lend to • Then just a nice Philips Fidelio headphones that I left on a flight to Frankfurt… it was probably kept by the dude that sat next to me • A small uni speaker bass combo that I lend to a classmate (who just happened to multiply the asshole he already was)

Widget should be configurable...

You could sort the entries in your profile using the arrows beneath each item and I guess that the widget would then be responsive over that order.

Vox AC30 CC2 questions

If you do not care about its FX loop then I would suggest you to skip it and try to find a Goodsell or something like that. I love it but that's because I depend on FX loop while I found no better options at that price range (yes, I hate that they include the tremolo and the reverb… but they sound nice to me, I want a Matchless or a Bad Cat more because of their lesser pack of features). About what Jim quickly pointed to: the Custom Classic series have tube based rectification, the current series have solid state based rectification.

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

I tend to wish more social functions through the site to interact between members. Though tools like private messaging, "friendship" and item recommendations would be ok I think that a basic shout box inside our profiles would be a nice first step to let many of those possibilities run its ends, and of course it could be an optional feature depending on the user's preference (though I think that it should be enabled by default). It would also be nice to have the possibility to write to the users through their collection items (now this needs to have a review from them to allow that), I think I may not be the first one that would like to ask some users about peculiar items, am I right?

Equipboard submissions EVOLVE!

Yes, like that, dear G, sorry about my messy explanation. :-)

Equipboard submissions EVOLVE!

It comes with the question: how would it EVOLVE? I mean, the mechanism(s). Shouldn't we be able then to replace the submitted item to the entry? To correspond with your own sketch we should be able to state a generic http://equipboard.com/items/fender-jazzmaster to fit better on the case of http://equipboard.com/pros/yannis-philippakis/fender-american-special-jazzmaster-electric-guitar instead than to the mismatched specific version of it which keeps it more wrongfully than what we could quickly point to. I think that we should also be able to report duplicated submissions for cases when the same or equivalent source turns to point to different items because of this cases of ambiguity/vagueness. :-)

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

Yes, we can all verify that over Fender's official product specs in their website, they seem to match rosewood finger boards with alder bodies and then maple boards with ash. And there are also differences in at least other aspects as the bridges/saddles, it is clearly not just a cosmetic issue.

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

No, not ALL American Standard Telecasters are made with ash bodies, many are made with alder bodies. I categorized it where it would belong, I fixed its name as it should and gave a description because as longs as it is around here it is fine to give its information, AGAIN: if moderators deicide that the item is a duplicate it just gets deleted or merged and that's it, the appropriate tool to handle that is at our disposition and you seem to waste our times with this discussion methods, the thing about it being a duplicate or an appropriate item is up to the moderators and in the meanwhile you can keep your opinion about it but you have to make yourself clear that is just that and if the thing stays then what I did is appropriate, your criteria is just relative to your point of view that tries to state as conclusive something that is uncertain. For me it would be ok if all maple American Standard Telecasters with ash bodies are merged but in the meanwhile that's no enough point to leave the specifics unattended. I do what I want because I have a point about it, you know you used the same imperative kind of sentences before to told me what to do and then moderators ended up throwing your points down so please don't insist with those petulant manners.

10yalmost 10 years ago

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

Because among the American Standard Telecasters it has a peculiar ash body so I think it could justify itself as an specific item as its specs differ beyond the body's finish , but also because as we discussed before in general terms around here: it had the "(duplicate)" as part of its name and we had a consent about avoiding that mode that you used, if moderators thinks that it should be deleted/merged then they will make their decision (based on the accurate tool we all have to flag that) but meanwhile it is more appropriate to keep it clean. :-)

New Practise Amp!

Just try it… and you'll find it has no peculiarity, no dynamics, no color… it's just a grey tube platform for a solid state circuit to drive before it.

Yeah… avoid them! Those are tasteless.

I had an HT-1 and though I prefer its layout of controls and its possibilities I suppose that the HT-5 would suit better the possibility of a little gigging with it. :-)

Vox Tones

Jim said it all already. I have a Custom Classic AC30 (and rehearsed many times with a Custom too) but had to deal with some VR and other in the past and I can confirm a considerable distance between the two things, though it could result a usable amp over its own characteristics. Check the Peavey Classic 20 MH as it's an affordable head with real tubes on it (two EL84 over the power section and three 12AX7/ECC83 over the preamp) which I think could get you closer to that kind of tones.

Doesn't one of you young guys have an EHX pitchfork?

Yes, the Whammy tracks chords cleaner than the Pitch Fork, but yes, I kept the Pitch Fork not only for its size but also for its blend option too and latch capability too (it's sad that the Ricochet did not grabbed this feature… Digitech seems to always be a cent short to pay the bill). Then talking about TC Electronic: I don't know if you could tweak their new Sub'n'Up via its TonePrint implementation to set it like that, have you researched about it? Its polyphonic octave generation sounds not as nice as in the EHX' pedals but if they were smart enough they should have implemented that base detune algorithm in the Nova over this for its extended configuration. And well… the H9 is always a very tempting option, the Nova is nice because it offers that kind of details you could some day desire but obviously for its general idea has no much sense to keep for a sporadic use which is contrary to its main end but then the H9 kind of packs most of that stuff with great quality but in this case precisely with a very friendly format to add to some regular setup.

Doesn't one of you young guys have an EHX pitchfork?

I have the Pitch Fork and had it side to side with a Digitech Whammy V and I preferred the overall response of the Whammy, if you are all into it for maximum quality I would point to the Whammy.

If you're into it just for the Detune check out the Digitech Luxe. ;-)

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

As I said: I don't even mind if they keep it or not, I mind about the fact that they actually use it because it shows their approach to certain products and that's something that they decide to be part of their public exposure while luckily we provide sources to discern the kind of use. And also again: as you do not care about that kind of use there are other users that do, and therefore it is valid even for reasons that you do not care about, please respect the fact that others do even with all your obvious statements about it (you're not revealing anything new about the fact that those are commercials, that they may not keep the product, etc., those are things that most people can assume indeed). :-)

10yabout 10 years ago

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

What does it have to do with the specificity of cases that I pointed to? Nothing. You are indeed exposing things that I agree with, it's a mess to relate that with what I said before. We are talking about a very public instance with a clear commitment to the product, we as users are properly provided with sources that let us discern about its kind of use.

10yabout 10 years ago

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

Your matter with the AC30 point is other issue, the product demos are obviously very public instances, your comparison is clearly mixing apples with oranges then. Those are different standards, I'm exposing an explanation which differs from what you're saying. :-)

10yabout 10 years ago

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

Yeah, but then we would be tracing a very arbitrary line between which usage is fine to submit and which usage is wrong to based on individual opinions. It would suppose an abstraction of the demo instance as if it didn't existed though actually it did and the submissions are just a proof of that, and I insist about the fact that it actually means something to others for reasons different to yours and I think that these implied social diversity should be considered (I possible care even more about how Thorn, Abasi or Mika demo products than about what they actually end up using on their rigs). A field for usage type (stating demo/studio/live) as part of the submissions' information could help about filtering the diverse interests that one or other could possibly have, in the meanwhile you could blame Thorn for having that extra job that White just doesn't –and that's something that makes them different issues. :-)

10yabout 10 years ago

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

Well, that's exactly something stating a considerable distance between Anderton's demos (usually just regular stuff) and the cases I specifically pointed (Abasi, Thorn and Mika usually get their hands over much more peculiar items… I know it's a matter of opinion but I guess that you could agree with it).

10yabout 10 years ago

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

The Anderton's case is picky, but I am not totally against product demo submissions as those point to specific kind of playing that some artists can develop with the spotted gear and therefore can give us a better idea of it (Mika, Abasi, Thorn).

10yabout 10 years ago

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

Dear g, I'm interested about handling the gear's images replacements without bothering others –like now– by pointing issues that then I could solve by myself, of course that I could wait until this ability is open to regular users but would have no problem about being a Moderator in a shorter term for some more immediate action if everyone's fine about it. ;-)

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

Well… we can always edit the submissions to fix it if we really care about that. But I agree on the common sense about it, of course, though I think that it should be more like a very suggested and evident guideline than a rigid rule. :-)

Any moderator would like to replace http://equipboard.com/items/mesa-boogie-express-5-25-1x12-combo-amp's image for an appropriate one? It currently shows a 5:25+ instead of the regular 5:25. Here you have a nice image: http://alamomusical.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/image1.jpg.

We need a typeset with characters like the ohm –which is commonly used in speakers descriptions and ends up being shown as a question mark symbol.

Your favorite music-related movies?

Four Minutes (2006) – Kind of a Whiplash predecessor but for grown ups? The Chorus (2004) – Sweet story. Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001) – I usually don't like musical movies, but this one is tremendous.

Yeah, but you go to the store and they sell different items by different manufacturers even with whatever similarity "under the hood", and here the catalog is not about circuits but about products too.
