The bass started in 1968 when lancaster bought is brandnew as a olympic white finish. Around 1971 alan has taken off the white finish to a naturel finish with a chrome scratsplate add to it. Around 1976 alan has painted the bass to a dark purple color and then it was ' retired ' after the wild side of life clip. With the Frantic Four Reunion the Mustang was back with a fome under the strings at the bridge and a passive humbucker (installation time unkown) the bass was later for auction at bonhams https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/25996/lot/117/

In the 1970s, Alan Lancaster used a sunburst Fender Mustang Bass as a backup. During later reunion gigs, he switched to a Fiesta Red Fender Mustang Bass for the same purpose. This is evidenced by this photo.
Alan Played a kramer 350B bass from 1978 to the end of the road tour in 1984, next to the Travis Bean Aluminum Neck was this and de kramer Lancasters main bass in Quo and Later in the Party Bombers.
