Note that he does not "mix" on the desk, EQ is set to neutral, faders are either full open or closed. Note as well that he did changed the order/color of some of the fader caps for convenience. He used the red fader caps for track 1 (Kick from the Octatrack) and track 7 (Bass from the Moog Minitaur). The MPC and Octatrack come in on stereo tracks (green faders).

Later in the video he will show that he can use it to mute and manipulate tracks live on the MPC. Note that he changed the caps/faders to red caps/faders from Chromacaps.

Based on this video, it seems to be a black MkII version (with square track buttons as the MkI has round buttons).
