Barry Hay

Here's Barry Hay playing "Ce Soir (Kill Me)" with golden Earring at Winterland 1975 live on a Danelectro/Coral Scorpion 12-string 3 pickup, similar to the one George Kooeymans has except this one is white. It may also be the same one or one of two Kooeymans has as Kooeymans plays a white one in the "Instant Poetry" video.

These are a rare 12-string model made by Danelectro and made in various configurations from 1967 to 1975 under the Danelectro and Coral names. Seems Golden Earring was using these from 1974 supporting Moontan to 1976 or so.

Barry Hay playing a Dan Armstrong Lucite guitar. He's seen jumping around with it in the 1973 Promo for Radar Love so very likely this was used during the Moontan period and retired soon afterward. A 1983 interview with George Kooeymans asked about it and he said the only good thing about it was the hot-swappable pickups.

Here Barry is playing a Gibson SG special on "When the Lady Smiles" sometime between 2015-2017. This is his most recent guitar of choice with Golden Earring or so it seems in 2016-2017.

Here's Barry with a blackguard Butterscotch Tele of some kind in the music video for "The Devil Made me Do It" from the CUT Album, he also has started using other various custom Telecasters both Fender and custom-built in the last 10 or so years live.
