Howe can be seen playing a Danelectro D3N12 Scorpion in this photo of a performance by the band Yes.
Seems to be his main electric guitar. Can be seen playing it in this picture, and many others.
George started using a 3 pickup Danelectro/Coral Scorpion 12-string Guitar sometime towards the mid 1970's, It may have been under another brand name only availible outside the USA though. It's visible in the music video for "Instant Poetry" and probably used on the Switch album in 1975 as well. I have also seen Barry Hay (lead singer) use this guitar around that time as well.
This is an incredibly rare guitar and hard to find a good picture of online. What determined that this was a D3N12 scorpion is that it has no vibrato and three pickups, rather than the more common 2 pickup model hardtail, or the three pickup model with a vibrato.
Here's a picture of George with it in the 70's - http://iv1.lisimg.com/image/9693902/250full-george-kooymans.jpg
Here's Barry Hay playing "Ce Soir (Kill Me)" with golden Earring at Winterland 1975 live on a Danelectro/Coral Scorpion 12-string 3 pickup, similar to the one George Kooeymans has except this one is white. It may also be the same one or one of two Kooeymans has as Kooeymans plays a white one in the "Instant Poetry" video.
These are a rare 12-string model made by Danelectro and made in various configurations from 1967 to 1975 under the Danelectro and Coral names. Seems Golden Earring was using these from 1974 supporting Moontan to 1976 or so.
