Ben Folds' Amplifiers

I’m trying to remember where I bought that, the Hiwatt. I just needed a guitar amp. I got that for the Fear Of Pop record. So I bought that in 1997 and then, yeah, I just needed something to.. and I honestly used it for Rockin the Suburbs.. I'm a shitty guitar player, but I play all the guitar on that. And that was distorted through the Hiwatt. I think that one you have to hit really super hard before it breaks up or it used to be the case. And when it does, it's pretty incredibly mean. It's a loud amp.

The band can clearly be seen using this Marshall amp(s) in this video.

Ben Folds owned an Ampeg SVT-CL Classic bass amplifier head, as noted in a listing on Reverb. The amplifier was likely used during rehearsals for the "Songs for Silverman" album, primarily played by Jared rather than Robert.
